I thought this was brought up when it first happened in 2015 but could not find the thread anyway.

In July 2015, just weeks after the Charleston church massacre, a large group of people drove up to a birthday party in Douglasville in trucks, flying American, military and Confederate flags. According to prosecutors, about 15 people, several pointing guns, were riding through town that day with a group called “Respect the Flag.” They apparently thought it would be cool if they rolled up on an 8 year old's birthday party wavering said confederate flags, calling the people there N*****s, and point their guns at them and threatening them. According to testimony “They repeatedly yelled death threats saying they were going to killing all the N----. They said, 'We'll blow the heads off all the little b------ and the little n----- can get one too,

Things don't seem so funny now.

Jose Torres was sentenced to 20 years with 13 years to serve and Kayla Norton was sentenced to 15 years with 6 to serve. They were charged and convicted of aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and violating the Georgia Street Gang Act.

Norton after the sentencing offered this up to the family “What happened to you was horrible. Mother-to-mother, I can't imagine what it was like to explain what that word means to a child. I accept responsibility for what I did, but that was not me,” the 25-year-old mother said fighting back tears in her eyes.

The mother of the child having the party was in the courtroom as well and had this to offer “We all have to be held accountable for our actions. I forgive you. I forgive all of you. I am not a mean spirited person and I'm sorry for your family that it had to come this far,” Bryant said as Norton and Torres wept.

The judge that handed down the sentence said “I don't think it's a coincidence that this incident happened one month after the Charleston shooting,” Judge McClain said speaking directly to both convicts. “I suppose confederate flags can be interpreted different ways and different contexts, but if you're driving around waving Confederate flags and using the N-word everywhere you go, then there's only one way to interpret that,” he said.

This motherfucker's name is Jose Torres and he's running around waving Confederate flags and terrorizing black people.

I don't know about you guys, but, to me, this looks exactly like one of those racist "white hispanics" that people tried to tell us didn't exist during the Zimmerman trial.

I was shocked from this one. Not an attack on judges, but I can easily see them getting significantly less time because of something silly like they didn't physically harm anyone. Swift and harsh punishment is part of what's needed to reign in some of these hateful people.

I was surprised by the length of the sentence they received too, considering it happened in GA.
However it's probably the fact these assholes were waving around guns at an 8 year old's b-day party spouting racist hate speech that forced the judge's hand.

Anytime you choose to wave around a hand gun in a threatening manner to make your point, most courts are going to look at that as an assault.
It would be no different than if you pulled out a gun talking to your boss about raising your salary.lol

Your ass is getting fired and probably spending some time in jail.

I've got no sympathy for people came to the country illegally and are now acting like it's outrageous that immigration laws are being enforced.

However, I wouldn't be so keen to cheer on Trump. He's done everything that he said he'd do during the campaign.

Remember, he also called for a nationwide stop-and-frisk law to target black people. The worst is yet to come with that motherfucker.

Agreed! That's why now and throughout his hate-filled campaign I've continuously said... Today it's the Mexicans (really any latino) and Muslims... Who will it be next?

This thinking, civilized black man has already been subjected to plenty of unnecessary contact with law enforcement in his life due to racial profiling.

If cops start to act as emboldened as ICE is right now, then wearing nice clothes and speaking English with perfect diction isn't going to save you from mistreatment.

There are literal white supremacists advising the president and running the Justice Department.

Sessions has only been on the job as AG for a week and he's already indicated that the Justice Department is going to stop overseeing police departments that have issues with misconduct.

When the bulls are off the leash, claiming to be one of the talented tenth ain't gonna save your black ass.

If you think that anybody but the ruling class is going to advance under Trump, then you're in for a rude awakening.

Can't be any worse than what our grandparents and great grandparents went through. Wake me up when they full on go back to lynching niggas like it was 1910.

The way I see it, the black man's competition is getting taken off the chess board, but I'm just a silver lining kinda guy

When you get stopped and frisked, be sure and let us know
