We shall see about Melania. My take on her/them at this point is that they are wanting her to take a more old fashioned/traditional role as the First Lady. More of a quietly seen type that stays in her place in a very old school sort of way. It's too early to tell for sure, it may just take her some time to become more confident in her role. Michelle had many years of being a politicians wife. A politicians wife is not the same as a CEO/business mogels wife.

I may not agree with Obama on many things but I will say that I think they are a very likable couple, much more so than most who have been in their position. I think they come across very kind and with grace.

 

Funny how people think they can *know* how a relationship is and what goes on between two people, and why.

Such utter and complete bullshit!! Makes me wonder if those going on about it have ever actually had a relationship themselves and/or known people in relationships. Things can look VERY different from the outside looking in. No way to really know a damn thing about someone's relationship unless you are one of the people in it.

Well stated. Appearances are definitely decieving. One on the outside can only pass judgement (though we should not) from past observations and how a person/s carry themselves in the public eye.

That being said, Melanie left a LOT open to interpretation on Inauguration Day! That's what I know for sure.

 

I've reserved judgment on the two of them. I have this thing about trying to find some sort of good in everyone and TRYING to not react to things and wait to see what happens. It's getting more and more difficult by the day, but I'm still trying.

But in playing devil's advocate....it's very possible that she was scared shitless!! Overwhelmed, nervous, and extremely uncomfortable. I think that would be normal for most people in that position. I can only imagine (and quite frankly don't even care to) what it would be like to be in that position and under such scrutiny. She has to know going in that soooo many people are waiting for her to fuck up in any possible way and will blow up any and everything she says and does. I don't feel sorry for her, she put herself in that place. But I do think that everything I saw could easily have different explanations.

Melanie when she speaks, does not polarize. I read an interview and she came off as a very focused mother, with unending positivity in her outlooks on life. By nature she appears to be a KIND woman, and the disgraceful insults hurled her way - from her intelligence, to her language style, her looks, and her son, proves the "we go high" catch cry of the Left.. is unequivecally fraudulent to its core.

 

I stand corrected. Admittedly, I don't follow Melania so I have not seen her speak publically unless you count the comparisons to hers and Michelle's speeches that were fiercely covered on the news months ago. Even then, I didn't pay much attention because I believe Trump to be a joke. I was just waiting for him to say "SIKE" before he was sworn in as POTUS, proclaiming to the nation that he was only mildly entertained at the back n forth of the politics and he didn't really want to be president. But I digress.

I am glad she is not hiding in the shadows of her husband and whether or not she fears him, loves him or loathes him, I just want her to carry herself appropriately with dignity and class the way a First Lady should. Thus far since coming into office, I am impressed at the way she has carried herself but as I said before, she leaves a helluva lot open to interpretation as of late. As for her speech, well... all I will say is I didn't listen to much of it and if she indeed plagerized Michelle's speech thinking the world was stupid enough to not notice, Id have to ask, "what did you expect?"

And I do not condone throwing stones at her son. Children should be off limits. I started to say Melania too, but after reflection I have to mention first impressions are everything. She didn't exactly set herself up for success with the infamous speech.

 

People are not going after Melania here, so you're still defending Donald Chump. A man's wife is a reflection of himself, or is that view not allowed in feminism?

Melania is given all kinds of passes as First Lady that Michelle Obama, or any First Lady, would never be given.
The woman has posed nude and for 99% of presidential First Ladies, that would be a campaign killer for their husband.
No way in hell would Dubya or Barack Obama have been elected POTUS if their wives had these kinds of photos out in the public.

Most women from what I see or read don't enjoy or look forward to their husbands' pursuing public office because it can be so disruptive to the family dynamic. HRC didn't like it. Most spouses don't.

We also saw when the Trumps formally met the Obamas at the WH, Trump acted like Melania wasn't even there once he got out of his SUV truck.
Trump is from the generation where MEN got out first and HELD OPEN the car door for their wives and significant others in formal situations.

The woman insisted that President Trump wasn’t elected.

“You are on a bike and you are oblivious,” she said to Joe as if somehow being on a bike rendered him unable to think.

“Political correctness is a disease,” Joe said before going off on a tirade on Planned Parenthood calling it “racist.

As he stood surrounded by protesters shouting at him Joe didn’t back off and gave the protesters the facts.

He told them that whatever they think their movement is about, it was hijacked by socialists who are riling them to help get their anarchist agenda ahead.

Joe said the protesters bullied people who supported Trump into pretending they didn’t and that’s why they are surprised he won.

“There’s so many people that supported Trump but they were afraid to openly support him. But you know when they supported him? In the voting booth” he said.

And he had a direct message for the protesters and Hollywood stars saying Trump is not their president.

“This is the United States of America. You say he’s not your president … Leave!” he said.

Baltimore Ravens tight end Benjamin Watson spoke at the 44th annual March for Life today, calling for Americans to unite to end the "unthinkable practice" of abortion.

"These lives are important, the pre-born are important," Watson said on "The First 100 Days" tonight.

He said that one of the major messages of his address was the need for men to help "lead the charge” in defense of life.


"My challenge was to men, including myself, to stand up for these women and also to stand for the pre-born," Watson said. "They truly are our most precious gifts."

He said he felt an incredible energy at the event today, but also a sense of purpose.

He explained that it's critical to stand up for those who are voiceless and have no way to stand for themselves.
