We shall see about Melania. My take on her/them at this point is that they are wanting her to take a more old fashioned/traditional role as the First Lady. More of a quietly seen type that stays in her place in a very old school sort of way. It's too early to tell for sure, it may just take her some time to become more confident in her role. Michelle had many years of being a politicians wife. A politicians wife is not the same as a CEO/business mogels wife. I may not agree with Obama on many things but I will say that I think they are a very likable couple, much more so than most who have been in their position. I think they come across very kind and with grace.
Funny how people think they can *know* how a relationship is and what goes on between two people, and why. Such utter and complete bullshit!! Makes me wonder if those going on about it have ever actually had a relationship themselves and/or known people in relationships. Things can look VERY different from the outside looking in. No way to really know a damn thing about someone's relationship unless you are one of the people in it.
I'm too lazy to quote the bs about predators and acting like Clinton was some sort of a good guy. Give me a Fing break! The male (NOT man) is definitely a predator. It still blows me away that ANYONE would defend him in ANY way. And no that has nothing to do with Trump or any of the shit he has said/done or is doing or saying. I'm not defending him in any way shape or form.
Well stated. Appearances are definitely decieving. One on the outside can only pass judgement (though we should not) from past observations and how a person/s carry themselves in the public eye. That being said, Melanie left a LOT open to interpretation on Inauguration Day! That's what I know for sure.
I've reserved judgment on the two of them. I have this thing about trying to find some sort of good in everyone and TRYING to not react to things and wait to see what happens. It's getting more and more difficult by the day, but I'm still trying. But in playing devil's advocate....it's very possible that she was scared shitless!! Overwhelmed, nervous, and extremely uncomfortable. I think that would be normal for most people in that position. I can only imagine (and quite frankly don't even care to) what it would be like to be in that position and under such scrutiny. She has to know going in that soooo many people are waiting for her to fuck up in any possible way and will blow up any and everything she says and does. I don't feel sorry for her, she put herself in that place. But I do think that everything I saw could easily have different explanations.
Cherok33, it was Melania herself who presented her Cause. She is not in the Shadows. Explaining her future Platform, this is keynote in what she said at her presentation in Berwyn PA.. Quote: “It is never OK when a 12-year-old girl or boy is mocked, bullied or attacked. It is terrible when it happens on the playground, and it is absolutely unacceptable when it is done by . . . someone on the internet. We have to find a better way to talk to each other.” The response? She was trolled unmercilessly by the "tolerant" Left/MSM. Similarly, one of the key quotes Michelle made in the speech you noted in your post, was: "When they go low, we go high" She was wildly applauded. This is how the "tolerant" "we" responded.. ------------------------------- -------------------------------- High, right? Nothing from the WH condeming it, nothing from Michelle. Tell me, how can Melania speak on behalf of herself when the MSM mock her and refuse to speak to her? When her son is mocked as "retarded" and worse? Melanie when she speaks, does not polarize. I read an interview and she came off as a very focused mother, with unending positivity in her outlooks on life. By nature she appears to be a KIND woman, and the disgraceful insults hurled her way - from her intelligence, to her language style, her looks, and her son, proves the "we go high" catch cry of the Left.. is unequivecally fraudulent to its core.
I stand corrected. Admittedly, I don't follow Melania so I have not seen her speak publically unless you count the comparisons to hers and Michelle's speeches that were fiercely covered on the news months ago. Even then, I didn't pay much attention because I believe Trump to be a joke. I was just waiting for him to say "SIKE" before he was sworn in as POTUS, proclaiming to the nation that he was only mildly entertained at the back n forth of the politics and he didn't really want to be president. But I digress. I am glad she is not hiding in the shadows of her husband and whether or not she fears him, loves him or loathes him, I just want her to carry herself appropriately with dignity and class the way a First Lady should. Thus far since coming into office, I am impressed at the way she has carried herself but as I said before, she leaves a helluva lot open to interpretation as of late. As for her speech, well... all I will say is I didn't listen to much of it and if she indeed plagerized Michelle's speech thinking the world was stupid enough to not notice, Id have to ask, "what did you expect?" And I do not condone throwing stones at her son. Children should be off limits. I started to say Melania too, but after reflection I have to mention first impressions are everything. She didn't exactly set herself up for success with the infamous speech.
People are not going after Melania here, so you're still defending Donald Chump. A man's wife is a reflection of himself, or is that view not allowed in feminism?
Melania is given all kinds of passes as First Lady that Michelle Obama, or any First Lady, would never be given. The woman has posed nude and for 99% of presidential First Ladies, that would be a campaign killer for their husband. No way in hell would Dubya or Barack Obama have been elected POTUS if their wives had these kinds of photos out in the public. THis is Trump's THIRD marriage, unlike Barack or Hillary. Right there that tells me the man has a problem with long term relationships. The man is a pig when it comes to women. Period. End of story. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...g-to-donald-trump_us_576c3886e4b0dbb1bbb9e5a8 I don't give a fuck who 'wears the pants' in the Obamas' relationship. What I have a problem with is weak conservative White men saying Michelle isn't really a WOMAN, which is the overriding message from the vid you posted. A wife isn't allowed to get mad at her husband?? That somehow makes her worthy of unceasing criticism from political rivals?? Most women from what I see or read don't enjoy or look forward to their husbands' pursuing public office because it can be so disruptive to the family dynamic. HRC didn't like it. Most spouses don't. Nonetheless, what I'm talking about is deeper than that. Michelle Obama has be described as a MAN, an APE, a CHIMP, none of which has anything to do with her relationship with Barack. No one has argued or required that Michelle is submissive or docile. She and her husband are partners, equals. I assume they don't feel the need to play any particular roles in their relationship. They're married because the LOVE each other, not because one will subordinate who they are for the other. That's not what this is about anyway. The reason the vid you posted was out of bounds is because it reinforces the idea that Michelle Obama isn't really a WOMAN. Conservatives loves to snicker in private that Michelle Obama is a man and that Barack is gay. You played along with this garbage by posting that disgusting YT video. This attack on Michelle Obama about her gender and species is all about her RACE, not her relationship with Barack. You don't think for a second that Nancy was the driving force behind her relationship with Ronald Reagan?? The woman was a pit bull when it came to protecting and defending her husband when he was elected POTUS, yet NO ONE started to question her DNA or gender. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/07/...d-influential-first-lady-dies-at-94.html?_r=0 Mrs. Reagan was a fierce guardian of her husband’s image, sometimes at the expense of her own, and during Mr. Reagan’s improbable climb from a Hollywood acting career to the governorship of California and ultimately the White House, she was a trusted adviser. “Without Nancy, there would have been no Governor Reagan, no President Reagan,” said Michael K. Deaver, a longtime aide and close friend of the Reagans who died in 2007. Was Ron Reagan 'henpecked' or less of a man?? Was Nancy Reagan an APE?? Did she have a penis because she was basically Reagan's top adviser in the WH?? That's why I said the vid you posted was racist and sexist. Back to Melania, this is what I know. (I believe) she's the first, First Lady who made up some crap excuse to NOT to move into the WH with her husband after he was elected POTUS. And we can see from photos there's an obvious pain on her face when she's around her husband, and I'm not talking about a millisecond freeze frame of a random photo. We also saw when the Trumps formally met the Obamas at the WH, Trump acted like Melania wasn't even there once he got out of his SUV truck. Trump is from the generation where MEN got out first and HELD OPEN the car door for their wives and significant others in formal situations. Donald isn't some 20something 21st century hipster who doesn't know any better. To see Trump publicly diss his wife the way he did compared to Barack IMO is very telling.
Melania was trolled for her anti-bullying campaign because she could have been talking about her husband, the Bully In Chief. It's kind of hypocritical to be worried about bullying when you're married to one.lol
Oh give me a break. Trump has every right to defend himself. Those smartasses thought (and think) they can say what insults they want to, and he won't respond. Dream on. Every last one of them got a rude awakening. He's not your pussy politician, so if you come for him he's swinging back. It's not bullying to defend himself, it's bloody refreshing!
Of course they are going after her, especially AB. I don't even know what your striving for with your last comment. What does feminism have to do with it? A man's wife is his reflection? You mean spouse. And if that's your belief, then why did you vote for Hillary?
How does that belief somehow make Trump a better choice than Hillary?? Apparently you misinterpret the meaning or relevance. I simply made an assessment based on my view and left room for you to disagree due to possibly having different views. Maybe feminist views conflict.
‘Big Joe’ going off on anti-Trump protesters in epic fight goes viral By Carmine Sabia A man who called himself “Big Joe” confronted protesters at the Women’s March in Los Angeles with a brutal dose of truth. Joe was telling a man who was interviewing him that it was time for America to unite behind the president and give him a chance, when one of the “peaceful” female protesters interrupted and berated him. The woman insisted that President Trump wasn’t elected. “You are on a bike and you are oblivious,” she said to Joe as if somehow being on a bike rendered him unable to think. “Political correctness is a disease,” Joe said before going off on a tirade on Planned Parenthood calling it “racist. As he stood surrounded by protesters shouting at him Joe didn’t back off and gave the protesters the facts. He told them that whatever they think their movement is about, it was hijacked by socialists who are riling them to help get their anarchist agenda ahead. Joe said the protesters bullied people who supported Trump into pretending they didn’t and that’s why they are surprised he won. “There’s so many people that supported Trump but they were afraid to openly support him. But you know when they supported him? In the voting booth” he said. And he had a direct message for the protesters and Hollywood stars saying Trump is not their president. “This is the United States of America. You say he’s not your president … Leave!” he said. Watch his epic rant below.
Baltimore Ravens tight end Benjamin Watson spoke at the 44th annual March for Life today, calling for Americans to unite to end the "unthinkable practice" of abortion. "These lives are important, the pre-born are important," Watson said on "The First 100 Days" tonight. He said that one of the major messages of his address was the need for men to help "lead the charge” in defense of life. "My challenge was to men, including myself, to stand up for these women and also to stand for the pre-born," Watson said. "They truly are our most precious gifts." He said he felt an incredible energy at the event today, but also a sense of purpose. He explained that it's critical to stand up for those who are voiceless and have no way to stand for themselves. -------- No matter what you or l think on the matter, he has a right to speak.
