My dad didn't want to pay for me or my older brother to go to college but until you're 24 (at least back then) you had to put your parents income on your financial aid. So if your parents disown you you are shit shut out of luck. No financial aid just loans.

I see a bigger picture to it. All I've heard from you guys is it's a scam and really don't know what it's based on other than her race. We're assuming she's some spoiled rich girl because her parents took away her phone and car. I had a cell phone and a car at her age too and yeah I worked part time at a music store but I wasn't bringing home more that a hundred bucks a week and that was my spending money. So I can easily see how having thing ripped from you can put you in a bind. And she could have easily been any of the girls I dated at the time because of them had parents who would disown them for dating a black guy. Why is this so fantastic to you?
And if the discussion was about verifying facts I am one hundred percent with you but the discussion here is about whether or not she deserves to have an education. I just don't get that

No, I read the provided information and based it off of that. That's why I put "I can't" in quotes. That was provided information. I don't care how she looks. She said she can't find a job and mentioned nothing about trying the other provided options. It's up to her to show proof of her efforts. When you are asking for thousands of dollars for something that is donation based, I think it's totally acceptable to ask for proof of effort. Show confirmations of those applications. I consider it a kind of unofficial proof. And I would assume the same for anybody else doing the same thing. You make assumptions about all women when you voice your dissatisfaction with the dating scene. Why the change up now?

Because I base the dating stuff on my personal experience as well as the experience of others. So when I read this story I believe it because I've lived it. I was 18 and didn't get any assistance from my parents and I had girlfriends who were told to leave their home for dating me so this story doesn't sound wild to me. And I said this before if all that was being said was a little proof even a tuition bill I'd be on board. But you and others act like she has some nerve asking for help instead of taking on debt or risking her life to get an education.
