Isn't gofundme a resource? Grants are a government issued way of begging for something. Why is that ok but if I ask from individuals it's wrong?

There are plenty of grants that require no merit you just ask and they determine if they agree with your vision. I know plenty of grants writers

 

First off there are plenty of grants that will help pay for tuition so you apply to multiple to get the tuition to pay the full amount.
At one point higher education was actually free in states like California and New York.
Secondly why is k through 12 free? It is literally given to us. So why should college be different?

Bottom line, a privileged white girl using the race card to garner sympathy and pity for her own financial gain will forever and always rub me the wrong way. Of course higher education should be free, but it's not. This princess has many options at her disposal that clearly take too much effort so instead she'll throw a pity party and see how much she can milk out of strangers. It's pathetic and the fact that you don't see disrespect in her actions is crazy to me.

I'm talking about government provided resource. Money set aside specifically for this kind of thing. Hell, anything is a resource. Gold diggers using suckers is their resource. Doesn't mean we need to accept that nonsense. There is nothing wrong with turning to individuals if they have exhausted other options. Also, how many people are applying for school assistance with a sob story to drive it? My issue isn't with the go fund me. It's the lack of action and "I can't" that goes along with it. Zero effort on her part. If you aren't following, oh well.

You basically came into this thread and tried turning this girl into the poster child for something she isn't.

Again if you want to give money to her be my guest, but please don't try running game on other people trying to convinced them that she is someone they should be investing time and money into helping achieve an education. Too many of us have kids of our own to worry about or have other relatives or family friends that we know of that are actually struggling and trying to achieve an education to better themselves and their lives to fall for this nonsense.
