Come on man that's horseshit It has nothing to do with guns and far more to do with hurt and angry people lashing out because they can't make ends meet. Hilary represents the establishment. And the worst thing for her was cheating Bernie during the primary. The DNC robbed us all of the future. They ushered in a doomsday scenario because they are entitled assholes. And everyone saw it. I get why people just couldn't stomach her but like my not said a punch to the face is better than swallowing a grenade and here we are.
It was about angry people lashing out, but she won the popular vote and barely lost Florida and a few other states. You guys tremedoulsly underestimate the people that vote for second admendment rights as a priority issue. For a lot of people it's actually their number one concern. Second amendment rights is the issue that southern states are the most stubborn about. If you don't know that you're out of touch. A change of position on that issue would bare fruit in any election because for southerners it's the one position that they keep every election cycle. Like I said call it bullshit and enjoy Trump if you want. AlGore's dumb ass lost his home state over second amendment rights.
HRC won Virginia and if more Obama voters had showed up in this election, she probably had a real chance at FLA, Texas and North Carolina. No Dem presidential candidate IMO has a chance at carrying the confederate states, so that's just not some flaw in Hillary. I don't get the single issue voters on guns. HRC wants the same amount of regulation on firearms that we have for cars. And probably wanted to bring back the assault weapons ban. The problem is whenever HRC or a progressive starts talking about gun regulation, the right and the NRA start screaming at the top of their lungs how the liberals want to take away your guns. No serious politician wants to ban all guns, but that's the lie the NRA and the RNC have been selling to their base to make them distrust Democrats and improve firearm sales.:smt102 ANyway, Trump didn't win because of gun issues. It wasn't brought up even once that I remember during this campaign. HRC had 2 million more votes nationwide than Trump and if the crazy muthafuckers in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Ohio weren't stuck on stupid, we'd have Hillary back in the WH, except this time as the boss. BTW Trump's base would be ready to burn down D.C. if Trump lost the presidential election despite winning the popular vote by 2 million.
It's one million votes (so far), not two, however if you remove all the dead people's votes, the convicted felons, and illegals who were provided drivers licences (there are half a million illegals living in los Angeles alone!) then she really didn't win by much, if at all. Keeping with that line of thinking, if you go by the popular vote, with Blue States CA and NY as the #1 and #3 most populous States in the US, (60 million residents), they would decide the Presidency every election. On the 2nd Amendment issue, Trump talked about it often. Even Chelsea did in an interview and hinted the Supreme Court Judges as ruling in her mom's favor (if she won), and if you watched the Trump/Clinton debates, #2 was discussed. Furthermore, don't you remember the feigned hysteria from the Left when Trump made a quip about his supporters protecting their 2nd Amendment Right (by voting).. as him making a direct threat to shoot Hellery? I do agree if she won there would be demonstrations and protests from the Right, but as the saying goes they "protest" by voting.
No way he was referring to the "something they could do". The scenario he was presenting was that "if she's elected" then there's nothing they could do. I seriously doubt he was referring to voting as that would have to be a future campaign and/or midterm elections.
These polices that canidates run on are simply outlines for a negotiation. Maybe me and you are just different, but I negotiate in areas where I know people are at least willing to budge. When I refuse to budge I have already considered risk vs reward, and I don't refuse to budge When someone has their number one do or die priority on the line. What I'm saying is. Even if your position is the most logical and sensible when it comes to guns. Is it still logical to risk ruining the country for that position. Risk vs Reward man. We have too much at risk to be holding on to a gun policy when there are people that will die before they accept it. For the love of God let it go.....lol
Right, hundreds of thousands of dead people, illegals and convicted felons(who you apparently believe should not have the right to vote..welcome to the new slavery), are the reason why HRC still has a million plus lead in the popular vote. If I'm not gonna bring up the fact that the exit polls, ironically, in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania DID NOT MATCH pre-polling data as an example of how the right-wing stole this election, you don't get to make up bogus voter fraud theories about why Hillary won more of the popular vote. If this was the second time in less than twenty years a GOP candidate lost the presidential election but won the popular vote, like HRC and Gore, I'm sure Republicans and conservatives would be cool with that. That's why someone needs to tell Trump he doesn't have anywhere near a mandate. I also hope you're keeping count of the war hawks and neo-cons so far who've been selected to work in the Trump administration. All were against the Iran Nuclear deal and as a group think we should go 'harder' in the ME to defeat radical Islam. About the electoral college, you know that entire system was set up to empower White land owners who lived in low population states but still wanted power in Congress? Without an electoral college, CA and NY alone wouldn't automatically win presidential elections. Over 40% of registered voters in 2016 didn't vote in the presidential election, which means over 90 million people didn't participate. If conservatives truly believe we live in a center-right country, then they should write a bill that mandates all presidential elections are held on the weekend so more people can vote.
Beasty, do you really think progressives want to ban all guns?? Cause I know several Bernie-bot left wingers who keep firearms for home protection. I just have never heard or seen this secret agenda from the Left where their end goal is to ban all guns. Are you comfortable living in a country where mass gun shootings are a part of your 'freedoms' as an American?? Your right die because some nut with an AR15 decides to shoot up the mall?? I'm not saying this country should be Europe, but damn we sure do put up with some bizarre crap in this country all for the sake of 'freedom'. Our Euro allies fought two of the biggest wars in modern history on their home soil and lost millions of lives. And yet for some reason they believe a better society is one where not everyone is walking around with a firearm like it was a bodypart. It really bothers me we live in a country where we're forced to live with the reality of mass shootings because it's an 'American thing' and we can't live without our guns.
This, for real! For the last 8 years we've been hearing about Obama coming to "take our guns away". I have no issue with the second amendment, but I'm glad I don't live in a state where folks are walking down the street with assault rifles hanging from their shoulder.
Be glad you don't live in VA. Nothing freaks me out more than occasionally seeing some dude in camo walking the aisle of Walmart with the biggest effin' handgun I've ever seen.
Yup! I'm just across the Potomac, but trust me... I've seen them. Last year I was in Winchester with a friend, and there were at least a couple of people in a restaurant with handguns on their hip. It's just like... why? I think it was then when I was thinking... "Let me get out of this place, and take my black *ss back to civilization".
I'm a problem solver. I can't fix every problem, but if you want to fix the problem of the dumbest republicans winning elections then dropping the gun policy is the best move you can make. I worked in the mental health system during college and I will tell you it could use more financial support. Since you bring up Europe, I wonder if they totally neglect their mental health system. My solution: bargain for more support for the mentally ill and be willing to drop the gun policy for the added support. Give some take some or forever argue while we let the country go down hill. If someone has a better idea lets hear it.
Agreed! From what I hear... If someone needs mental health care and they don't have either lots of money or a job with good health benefits... They're seriously screwed which of course affects on society in many ways.
If I get some I'll share it. What's so bad about my proposal when your state can still make strict gun laws of they want???
Look man these motherfuckers keep voting for republicans, do you really think they care about jobs?? Lol
Mad?? This economy compared to Bush....lol Keep expecting people to be reasonable. Lololol I'm a pragmatist. If reasonable doesn't work, why rely on it?? You want to fix the problem or wait for people to be reasonable?? Lol Turn off the TV. Pls
