To be clear though, this applies to the GOP as well. They just happened to win the election this year but before Trump managed to take the Democratic establishment, he took out the GOP establishment. Governors? He crushed them. Senators? He steamrolled them. Businessmen? Annihilated. Social conservatives, economic conservatives, moderates, warhawks, anti-interventionists. Even a fucking neurosurgeon. He beat every single solitary one, and it wasn't even close. Democrats got a wake-up call but Republicans did, too. If nothing else it shows that the people who used to control the nomination process and pull the strings behind the scenes have lost their power. They tried their hardest to stop Trump and they failed. It will be interesting to see how Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan deal with what happens when a President who owes nothing to the establishment takes office in a few months.
Bliss did. How do you criticize someone who beat the S&P 500 for over 40 years in a row? That record is better than any record of anyone in any field. That's what I call walking on water. He didn't even bet against the market by short selling or moving puts. So not only did he win every year he won with class.
He's never been on a reality show acting a bafoon, never been accused of scamming people with a fake university and he's been married to one woman
100% right. I actually got loud with my own mother the other night, trying to get the bolded through to her. I literally had to remind her that she has the luxury of not being affected/threatened/scared by racism. She's white, her husband is white, her kids are white. She's safe. MY FAMILY'S NOT. Having to actually spell that out for her nearly brought me to tears. The beauty of my mom (my family in general) is that she looks at her grandkids and doesn't see color. The danger with that though is that it creates a blind ignorance to the reality of the world THEY live in, which differs greatly from the world she lives in. I think sometimes the extended family of IR couples with children, are so used to really "not seeing color", just seeing their family for who they are, that it almost makes them naive to the racism that their loved ones face, if that makes sense. Thank you sir and I'm not surprised at all that you were able to keep the peace and engage in a meaningful discussion. I, on the other hand, am having difficulty doing that lol. Im cutting people off with a quickness and with no regret. :freehug: Lmao :smt043 I was wondering how you got dragged into that lol
Don't give me too much credit. I did have to show a bit of the unpleasant side to one person so far. I'm expecting more, but we'll see. I was at work at the time, then I stayed in my office for the rest of the days as I didn't want to be bothered with anyone else who might have something ridiculous to say.
Lol I can appreciate that. And I agree, Warren Buffett is a damn-near genius. Trump's business mind isn't even in the same hemisphere as Buffett. Hell, why not both! He's already starting to backtrack on his promise to completely repeal the ACA, and he hasn't even been the President-elect for a week.
I saw that too. I bet the people who voted for him have just shitted. Then again most of them don't read or watch the news . They listen to talk radio. I wanna know when and who is writing the check for that wall
Dave on trump winning. a bit hopeful on some of you who have lost hope.
'President Barack Obama delivered a veiled rebuke to Hillary Clinton today for spending the summer and much of the fall taking it easy as Donald Trump barnstormed the nation. The two-time winner Electoral College winner said he was victorious in Iowa, a mostly white state, 'not because of the demographics', but because he spent 87 days going to 'every small town and fair and fish fry and VFW.' Some counties he may have lost by fewer votes because he dropped in, the president said. Others he won unexpectedly. 'And the challenge for a national party is how do you dig in there and create those kinds of structures.' I think it's important for me not to be big footing' that conversation, Obama said of the intra-party debate. But he also said the party would benefit from 'new faces.'.. (Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison, an African-American representative who comes from the progressive wing of the party and is Muslim, put forward his name today. ) Obama suggested that Clinton didn't excite her supporters the way Trump did as he complimented his successor. Recalling their conversation in the Oval Office last week, Obama said he told the president elect that he was impressed by Trump's ability to generate enthusiasm. 'I think that to the extent that there were a lot of folks who missed the Trump phenomenon, I think that connection that he was able to make with his supporters,' Obama said, 'that was impervious to events that might have sunk another candidate, that's powerful stuff.' Obama is leaving the country tonight for a seven-day trip to Greece, Germany and Peru.' **** On a subnote: Who caught Bernie this morning?
Ouch. But no. Why would l? Listen, you really need to vent your anger towards the old crooked white female you thought your fellow BP were going to vote. #NotMono #Freethinkers [HDYT]xNbF9PI9Gjo[/HDYT]
