I saw it in '10 with the republicans going against Obama and it led to a shift in the house. I will bet you a dollar right now that we will see something similar come '18, remember I said so.

Totally understandable for progressives and liberals to be upset, angry, fearful given the results last night, but all of the dire predictions of how awful things will be with Trump in the White House is starting to sound very familiar to all of the dire predictions about Obama from the right when he was first elected.

For example all of the scary false predictions from Focus on the Family about Obama back in '08 below. There will be no death squads and there will always be those to stand up for the people. Yes we agree that a lot of hate, racism, and sexism carried Trump to office last night, but now is the time to dig in and work not throw in the towel.

Make no mistake, I understand, probably better than most given my many years in politics, that there is risk that comes with ANY administration. As far as another recession/depression, which is what im really concerned about, as I have said numerous times here, that risk has little to do with the actions of the president or congress its all about the federal reserve.

We will have to agree to disagree that Trump being elected and a majority gop congress meaning that it will be a free pass to kill most people of color. There will always be instances of injustice and outrage for people of color, and we have to remain vigilant, but we dont want to give in to fear and panic, things will be ok TDK, we survived Bush and we will survive Trump.
