Racist white people once again have fucked us all. Have put their small minded xenophobic prejudices ahead of us all. The crash happened literally 8 years ago. They saw with their own two eyes what happens when an idiot leads the country but they'd rather pick a bigger idiot so they can keep the blacks in check, the muslims out, and build a wall around Mexico. That was the entire platform. Zero foreign policy, zero economic policy. Just pure fucking hate and now I have to look for another country to live in because of it. All protection and safety is gone because they'd rather the entire thing burn down than one welfare check go out to Maria and Tanisha. He's exactly right. Honestly, how do we explain this to our children, especially our daughters?? We teach them everyday, the dos and donts of life and this election just shows them that none of that actually matters. As long as you're white, and male, you can weasel yourself into/out of anything. You don't have to be honest, you don't have to be respectful, you can actually outright lie, cheat and steal...and STILL come out on top.

Pretty much. Just be white male and rich and literally the only thing that can touch you is disease. That's it nothing else. You can rape you can lie you do what every you want and there will be zero accountability. This is probably the best time in history to be a straight white guy because even if you don't have money all you have to do is get some. And hell you can just go rob a bunch of brown people and some women we all know nothing will happen.

 

The Associated Press didn't do an analysis of Americans who hold anti-minority sentiments. It was 50% back in 2012, likely to be even higher throughout 2016. They were afraid of conducting the analysis this year. I'm lead to believe if Bernie ran against Trump, he may have lost also! I'm not sure what it would've been like if Obama could run a third time against Trump. Possibly the same thing.

 

What happened to the white ladies? White ladies were supposed to make the difference in this election and yet turned out to vote for trump...

Minority wasn't running at top ticket.... More importantly
If you look at the minorities that ran on the national level... They won.
Asian american in Illinois
Hispanic american in Neveda
Jamican indian american in California

all women as well.

To be fair, you now have a larger brand of women to run for president that are progressive. I only concentrated on minorities since this was the scope. I am obviousily aware that we have quite a few white progressives as I have been wanting warren to run but now I have more selection. The cali senator looks promising if booker or warren doesn't run in 2020 or 2024.

Supposedly the biggest concern was middle aged/older, college educated, white women. This was really surprising to me as I was watching it. But then I thought about it. I think there is a percentage that vote with their husbands, etc. In this demographic there are still a large number of women who don't get involved in figuring out how they really think and feel about politics. Also the idea of getting a "non-politician/businessman" into office has been something of major interest since the 80s. There's also still that loyalty to party and policy. Many have the mindset that if you are affluent (have been, want to be again) then you go Republican....it's engrained.

Over and over again I've heard people say they may not like the guy but given the choice, they are going to go with who's going to be on the side of businesses.

Unfortunately, many of us in that demographic are not so shocked by the things Trump has done and said, it's oddly familiar to us. We were raised with it. Certainly not saying it's right or ok in any way, simply offering a bit of a possible explanation. But that model of male is what we grew up with as the example of success. They were the ones who made things happen. This country has been crying out for change for many years, but has no idea how to go about it. This is a way....maybe.

 

Wow. So you think your cushy life will change? He'll no, priviledged man.

Hopefully my health insurance will go down ( $200 a month rise come January and my friend who has a brain trauma and surgery..his rises from $2000 a month to $3000.)

Most of us are now living in what we perceive to be a gigantic hellhole.

Over 20 million people will lose their health insurance when the affordable care act is repealed by Trump and his administration. And for other unrelated reasons, the percentage of people that are uninsured without decent health insurance is going to increase. In some local areas, it can be as high as 40 - 50% of the population having nothing what so ever.

You all are going down, going down hard!

 

You have got to give it to the democrats though. Before we were having a conversation about if we should have a plan... It is now which plan should stay. In my opinion, When you can't get a plan passed in a majority republican party or it takes you over a decade to get a plan pass in the democratic party... The chances of you doing a repeal and replace is unlikely.
but we shall see.

And one more time no matter my situation I still care about people. I don't buy into the stark individualistic bullshit your party promoted. That line of thinking is exactly what got us the crash. Apparently is so damn short sighted.

Send the power back to the States.
I think a tweak of how it was before, was what was needed from Obama. I do agree pre-existing coverage should remain at an AFFORDABLE rate for the insured, and a lowering of these outrageous deductibles we now have to pay.
Allow Catastrophic insurance for the young and not force them to pay huge premiums for basic healthcare they don't use..

I think mandatory education for Americans on their health, on holistic and alternative options. on the healthcare system and how the insurance and medical systems work, we must be pro-active.

Less Insurance Companies and Pharma lobbying..enough of them controlling our doctors and health. I understand they invest in medical research for cures and medications so they do deserve reward, but no more pushing their drugs on us just to recoup their costs.

There has to be an affordable alternative to what is now.

 

You do know republicans fought hard for it to be the way it is.

 

Miley Trump can't repeal the ACA on his own, he will have to lobby congress. He will attack certain provisions of the ACA with executive orders but even those will be challenged. The Republicans will now be faced with putting forth actual legislation to address the healthcare crisis instead of just attacking and complaining about the ACA. This will be interesting to watch, no more just talking and obstructing, now the GOP will be on the hot seat to produce all the "winning " Trump promised.

 

I hope this happens, but I really don't think the GOP gives a fuck about people losing their healthcare coverage.
They've tried like 30-40 times to overturn the ACA, they have no choice but to do it even if they don't have a workable alternative yet.

I expect overturning the ACA will be the first thing the GOP led Congress does in 2017, shoot first, ask questions later.
