In friendships that show a friend is not really a friend of yours?

They disappear when you're going through some rough times.

They contact you when THEY need something (ride, help moving) and then you don't hear from them until they need something from you again.

    Those are a couple.

I think if you meet a woman who comes from a broken home, and there was violence in the home in particular... and that woman is resentful toward her brothers... she may be psychologically a man-hater or may have trouble "cooperating" with a dude... or may see herself in "competition" with dudes... or may have trouble teaming up... or may be addicted to, or inclined to, the same drama she grew up with...

She may still be (psychologically) fighting her mother's battles... Her mother's antagonism toward her father may affect what she thinks of men...

    That's my theory anyway...

They only feel good around you as long as you are less successful and they can't stand it when you get positive attention.

They don't really listen and are always trying to bring the conversation right back to their problems/accomplishments etc.

You are always the one who reaches out. The "friend" is not really making any effort to keep in contact/meet.

    Just to name a few.

    They get competitive with you.

    They don't have your back.

    They take but don't give.

    They don't keep their word.

    You can't trust them.

They try to ride your coat tails.

    Any form of disrespect.

(Books and Unique posted good ones)

If they won't help you bury the body. Don't trust 'em. ...lol

Seriously, though. If everything they say is negative. Or, if they talk bad about everyone to you. Best believe, they're talking bad about you, too when you're not alone.

Reminds me of that joke; "You have two kinds of friends in the world, the one who helps you bury the body and the body."

For me it's the friend you only see when they are having some massive drama and they want to dump all the negativity onto your shoulders.

If you feel mentally exhausted after seeing a certain friend it's a good indication they are a drain on you.

(I'm not talking about the odd drama, I mean the ones who have nothing but drama)

I refuse to do it now ( i am unavailable for these people now)

I also had an incident a little while ago, where a friend popped round to my Mums (as she knew I'd be there, my Mum saw her at the Drs and mentioned I was coming round)
Anyway not a problem, but then it was a solid hour of her and her money problems, how terrible her and her partner have been getting on, anyway I gave her a tenner so she had some money in her pocket and then a week later on facebook she goes to the Canaries. Made me grind my teeth as I can't afford to take my family there.

Then another one, does nothing but complain about her partner she feels depressed blah blah can't stand the sight of him.
He buys her a new car and surprises her with a holiday to New York and then you see them riding bikes and she has an engagement ring! This is the same man that makes your skin crawl and he's none the wiser.
Both of these people I avoid now.

People are insane and I don't think I'll ever understand them.

What kind of friends you messing with?

1.) All they want to do is get high and/or drunk all the time.

2.) Have a lot of enemies or always getting into fights, especially if you're 25 years old and up

*3.) Asking for favors immediately after meeting you without really getting to know you. If I just met you yesterday and you're asking to borrow $100 until payday,I'm already skeptical of you.

4.) Always at the bar or constantly in the club. Unless you work at the bar or club or own it,there's no fucking way you should be there 5,6,7 days a week
