World Trade Center Museum, Intrepid Aerospace Museum, The Empire State Building, Radio City Music Hall, The Blue Note Cafe for live jazz performances in Greenwich Village, The Freedom Tower(if it has an observation floor), a show on or off Broadway, a horse-drawn carriage ride through Central Park, Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Center of the Performing Arts, The Kennedy Center. Just a few suggestions. Enjoy and be careful. You can get a cab at Port Authority.

Well if you're into food i say work your way from the lower East side all the way up to Harlem.
If you want to meet women while you're here I suggest the okcupid sponsored events always a good time.
If you can catch a Yankee game it's always a great experience and not that expensive
Chelsea Piers is a lot of fun
If you like poetry I really the Nuyorican Cafe.
The Brooklyn Botanical garden is a great time and I think it's either free or suggested donations.

I had been to the old Yankees Stadium in the Bronx. I remember it was on a drizzly Sunday afternoon. The Yankees were playing against the Baltimore Orioles. I remember after the National Anthem, the jumbotron showed the animated Yankees baseball caricature showing clips of the glory days of the Yankees through the years.

A year or two before that, I saw my first baseball game at Shea Stadium when the Yankees played and beat the New York Mets. Shea Stadium had the worst hot dogs I've ever eaten. And it was loud with her liners flying overhead.

Pretty sure next time I'm renting a car for the weekend. That subway was brutal.

Where did you end up staying?
You're better off with the subway parking is what's really brutal in NY

Whoa! You definitely don't want that in NYC unless your lodging is outside of the city and/or far out in the outer boroughs. I know the crowds and complexity of NYC's subway can be intimidating and such, but if you're in Manhattan or close by... It's the way to go.

Yup! I've advised people who are driving into town to... Grab a hotel in Secaucus (likely free parking), then use NJ Transit's bus route 320 which is just a 10-15 min ride into Port Authority. My country bunkin uncle and aunt from SC did this twice and loved the idea.

Was this Airbnb joint in Jamaica Queens.

Took the subway and there was construction. I was on it for 2 hours I was done!

Think the subway was brutal but want to rent a car in NYC, ha! That's funny as fuck! I took my girl and her family there for her B-Day. Their lazy asses refused to get on the subway. I was damn near ready to kill everyone in the car at the end of the day.

I think for people who rely on their car all the time public transit is unthinkable. It sucks in the winter but otherwise its pretty easy. The only thing I hate about the city is if you have to use the bathroom you have to be a customer other than that it's pretty easy.

You were in Jamaica? Shit I wouldn't want to do public transportation around there either. It's an eyesore and a lot of grimey dudes. How much were you paying?

It can be a real pain with Jamaica being kinda far out. That's even assuming he was in central Jamaica within walking distance to the subway. Some of it would be a long walk or require a bus ride to/from the subway.

Yup! That was one of the things I loved about areas outside of NYC.
