And l re-iterate that won't happen unless there's Federal reform, because they are given permission to shoot and taught to shoot. It's messed up, but the Supreme Court gives them the leeway. (how many have the Justice Department indicted in the last 8 years?)

A veteran (white) cop told me shaking his head that "these new cops are ruining it for everyone because they are scared, and trigger-happy and clueless to diffusing a situation.".

So what kind of jobs would turn the high crime areas around?

Stores are robbed on the regular.

The Bulls win a championship and stores are looted in "celebration".

Many people spend hours every day on trains and buses getting to jobs. So why don't they move closer to their jobs? Because housing is ridiculously priced in those areas.

It's a vicious cycle.

 

Teach them some tech and medical jobs get them some job training. Teach them some dirty jobs, there are over 3 million that go unfilled each year.
And to be fair nearly all towns black or white do the same bs when their team wins a championship and trust me the Bulls ain't winning for awhile so there's no danger there lol

 

LOL. Oh yeah, they're a long way from the 90s team.

About the only teams in Chicago giving us any winning moments are the Blackhawks and Cubs.

I can't wait for the Cubs to finally win the World Series, but I can't even imagine how crazy Chicago will be when that happens.

As for the rest, you can't teach them tech and medical if the HS graduating rates hover at like 50% (don't quote me on this, I just made up a number).

These kids need to STAY IN SCHOOL to get the better jobs.

 

Not their fault if they are shutting down schools but truthfully the old way of schooling needs to go away anyway. It should be done bootcamp style and only have them in a building learning basic skills two days a week and the other three learning a damn skill. I seriously do not get why they won't at least try different things especially if the old ways aren't yielding any results for these kids. It shouldn't be on teenagers to just stay in school, give them an actual path instead of lies and bullshit promises. If I were 16 again I'd get a GED and go to a trade school fuck wasting my precious time learning about books and historical figures that have no bearing on my life now. I need a roof and food period the end.

 

I agree learning a marketable skill is more important than a classical education for many at risk kids, but only teaching them a trade or tech is preparing them to be sheep when they get older.

It's easy to manipulate a population who's simply ignorant of the reality of the world we live in.

The problem is we are at that level of crisis in the inner cities and many poor Black communities, where training them for work should be job #1

 

Great ideas and I agree with them, but again, they have huge problems with attendance in these schools.

It doesn't matter what kind of training they try to impart on these students if they're not showing up, and THAT starts in the home.

That's based on the current system that no one thinks works.

 

When people are dealing with survival school isn't that important. They need to have places to live, food to eat, and be safe first.
