I wanted a name like Steven, Carson, Palmer, Jefferson. Strong, stylish, masculine names. I wanted my dad to call me Jupiter He didn't do it. My first name is Scottish for Spearman. My middle name is French, Spanish and Italian for Conqeror.
Haha. Carson, Palmer and Jefferson are very cool. Steven just reminds me of a fat white guy (no offense) I went to school with one. Jupiter sounds cool. Just pretend thats your real name lol. You've never posted a pic have you?
I knew a couple of Stevens in school years ago. In high school, I gave myself the nickname The Solitaire Lion. It had a unique ring to it because solitaire, like the game, means alone in French. That's what I was in high school. I still am alone to this day. I haven't posted a picture of myself because I don't know how to do it on my phone. I want to post a clear and better image of me. But someone else would have to take the picture and post it from their phone. But I will get one posted somehow.
It does have a ring to it. Sounds much like an adult entertainers name lol. Ah ok. That's cool. You should!
Well, I thought it was a dignified and honorable name. I even wrote a poem with it and had it published in my school yearbook. I didn't think about the porn angle.
The Soltaire Lion;a poem The Solitaire Lion is always alone. Some might say he is different from their own. He feels alive when he's around his peers. But goes for the grace of God to combat his fears. Leo is his sign. He always says that the world will someday be mine. I was charged a nickel per word and it was longer than anything written in the page. I was 18 at the time. I had rewritten the poem in free verse because my writing instructor wanted me to focus on rhythm than rhyme. It began with, "The world isn't ready for one such as you..." And it ended with, "He can tell a good story. If someone will listen. Someday..." I forgot the rest. I wasn't all that satisfied with it. Free verse poetry is unique and has a different cadence than rhyme. I used to write poetry a lot back then. I sometimes wrote poetry for guys who want to impress their girlfriends, but didn't get paid for it. Live and learn.
Hey that's really cool I like it!! And yes poetry shouldn't purely be based on rhyming. I just love rhymIng I've been doing it since the high school days. My friends used to get a good kick out of the random funny but crazy shit I'd write. Well ya know girls heart melt with that sweet poetry. You should have charged em. It's your own vision and collection of thoughts at the end of the day.
The last poem I've written was a favor for my mother. A friend of hers had died and she wanted a poem to read at the funeral. I wrote a poem at my job. It took me roughly an hour to compose. I read it to my mother and she liked it. However, unknown to me, my mother decided to alter my poem by adding something of her own to it. I was really pissed when she told me what she had done. I mean, if you want to write something of your own , cool, write something of your own Don't palm my poetry as your own. She told me that it was for the benefit of the deceased's family. I told her that I wasn't going to do this again because she asked me for this favor. I have written poems to women. But it didn't work out. They appreciated the gesture and were flattered. But I didn't get a girlfriend for my efforts.
