Like we said...people gotta bitch for the hell of it. Just to be heard, yanno?. There's nothing wrong with Frats, etc. Its a brotherhood, sisterhood, networking, etc..but someone always has to spoil it for others.

So you are saying its wrong to identify with African tribes cause my fathers are from Africa? Does it make you more comfy that we go greek instead of African tribal?

Yeah but where is the question if it is black or white like it is greek?

When I say delta to a white person they may not know if its totally black, but if I say Zulu fraternity then they sure as hell know its black just as I would say BET.

Read the paragraph below title . its says ".....believed to Greece from Sudan..."
What you are saying is like a black kid gets adopted into a white family is now a white kid.

What so hard for you to say " why not identify with African tribal than Greece" ?

If you really believe it says they are definitely greeks than that says volumes about you.

    LOL.

Some of my clique in college had this expression, "WTF is a Black Greek??" because of our disdain for the fraternity system.

Some people get some real deep shit from joining fraternities and sororities, but that was never my thing.

Especially at an hbcu, you would think they would be more in tuned with their African roots.

I'm I indifferent to it. Side note: I think mlk was a kappa.

My thing if they greeks (whites) didn't want you why don't your dumb ass name yourself after an African tribe?

Bliss and paniro hate that African tribe thing ..

"His dare you identify yourself with Africa. That's offensive and racist" - Bliss and paniro

It is a little strange to see people dogging out that person. I say that because none of us are latino. I tend to accept that people are offended by different things based on their culture and so on. So, considering that, as far as I know, no one in this entire thread is latino, it is strange to see people get so upset about it and call that person a party pooper. I didn't realize cinco de mayo was such a big deal to get angry and make 6 pages about it considering we aren't latino or in a latino forum. Minor holiday or not, it isn't our culture, so our opinions are irrelevent in comparison to a latino person. It is what it is, I guess.

sub saharan africa. What's your point?

It wouldn't matter if I knew exactly. Why cause every black person and white person knows they are from africa

sub Sahara Africa? Cool me too.

So should white people celebrate their African heritage? Maybe black fraternities can use the Greek symbols since we are all from Africa. Same heritage and all right?

Whites will not celebrate their African heritage. If they plan on it, will they turn it into a minstrel show?

Why should blacks call themselves greeks when its obvious they are from africa? Why should blacks be so quick to call themselves greeks?

Why cant blacks embrace where they come from?
    Again what's your point?

My point is blacks should embrace their African heritage and one way is through the frats and Soros, do you disagree?

Do think blacks should just embrace Greeks and reject African?

    Agreed.

Be careful though - Bliss is going to jump on you for stating Latino rather than Mexican.

But most of us are for social justice so I think it's ok to hear their stories and talk about it. I for one love seeing shit like Asians for black lives
    Natives for black lives
That means they discuss these things
