Multiple Police Have Been Shot In Baton Rouge

Reports indicate that six police officers have been shot, and three of them have been killed, in a shooting in Baton Rouge Louisiana.

As of right now the situation is still developing, the police indicate that they have killed a shooter, but they think there could be more.

 

Seriously?!?

This is getting really crazy We can't live without police and we can't live with them. What do people propose who are trying to get rid of police? Why randomly do that to officers and their families when it's not know if the officer is good or bad?

You're right. It is getting insane out there, and this country is seriously f'ed up. You can ask the same of some police in regards to harming strangers for no reason. Of course force is necessary in many cases, but we all know that police the police is often part of the problem. admittedly... going out and shooting/killing police officers is certainly not the answer and wrong. However, I personally think the chickens are coming home to roost.

 

That's quite a stretch. Even when police officers wrongly kill a person...I don't think they wake up in the morning and plan to do it.

The perpetrators are going to get deep fried anyway, they mind as well choose a cop that's got a shitty rep. There are more than a couple of them on each force.

Shooters can't expect the public to "feel" what they're doing when they shoot/kill an innocent police officer. Those dingbats are fuckin' up the whole cause. They basically make "the cause" and themselves look worse than the dirty cops.

 

That entails actually researching the cops background which is often hidden to the public.

easier to shoot someone with a uniform on then it is to research a dirty cop.

Politics are local. You really have to live in Baton Rouge for a long time to understand what is going on.

Now is a good time to come together in Baton Rouge and have the police chief and Mayor have a conversation on TV with the community leaders to stop this.

No one in the media will say it but law enforcement brought this on themselves.
And it's not just the latest murder of a Black suspect, it's the decades of killings and police brutality that have gone on by the hands of the police that never make the national news and no justice for the victims.

If cops don't like how it feels to be a 'victim', it's time for them to clean up the system.

People aren't stupid and they have generational memories.
Whoever decided it was fine to place cops above the law laid the groundwork for these cop killer shootings in 2016.

People love to talk about how they believe in karma, well this is what it looks like.

What goes around comes around.

When law enforcement raises its level, the people they are sworn to protect and serve will genuinely RESPECT what they do and not target them for execution.

Maybe my mindset will change but as of right now I look at these killings like a beef between two rival gangs, because in many ways law enforcement conducts itself no better than a crime syndicate.

The real problem is unfortunately our elected officials and law enforcement will miss why these shootings are happening and think it's an excuse to police Blacks even more aggressively, which will only make the cycle of violence linger.

Sometimes things gotta get worse before they get better.

It's not hard to research a dirty cop. There are reports/complaints filed and every dope boy knows them by name. Those who harass/profile blacks constantly have to show up for traffic court.

I worked...did LEA work in New Orleans. Dealt with shitty cops in FL, DC and VA. I have been profiled and arrested more than once. I have hustlers and cops in my family. Please don't think I'm coming from some "save the police" bullshit standpoint. You get what you get when you become a cop...which is why I never wanted to be a cop. I always knew of that boys in blue bullshit code.

However, I'm not with shooting random people for the fuck of it. We've come a long way to fuck it up. At one point in time it wasn't safe for blacks to go outside of their neighborhoods and the stereotypes we still have to deal with till this day. Women clinching their bags, blacks being lynched for being in the wrong place...for those of you who act like you're about Martin Luther King...many are on some Malcolm X shit. When has violence from a minuscule group actually worked?

In a little while we/black men won't only be dealing with the police. We'll be dealing with the police on one side, white racist on the other side and the general public on the 3rd side. Two of those groups mentioned are going to be trigger happy.

This sounds like a setup to me even though they are trying to portray it as some random guys shooting at each other and the police just showing up on the scene. If it keeps up down that way, martial law will be declared and the national guard will have to show up.

I can understand when you are wet behind the ears and don't know any better...I see those types run their jibs all day on the web, but over 30 professional and educated...I'd expect sound judgement. Outgunned, outnumbered and unsupported.

Biting the hand that supports you (the general public) is not a good thing. Trump will be in office soon and all of those state legislators who've been in the closet will come out. In the words of my dude Sam Sneed...ya better recognize.

 

I'm just curious ..is it the brutality, or lack of justice, that you hold an entire police force accountable to deserve this?

You are giving people too much credit that you think they will go out and do the research even if it is easy to find.

The thing is that these black men going out to shoot cops aren't model citizens (one was radical, the 3 foiled were bangers, these ones I'm not sure). However, they are black men trying to throw their poor judgment into a relatively organized protest and attack on the system. A organized protest for changes while we still have a semi popular black president with a little bit of pull and a short margin of time to do something decent.

...all these guys are doing is shining a light...possibly re-igniting a negative, subconscious thought (Trump already brought the fuel) that may have been gradually lifting eventhough it didn't seem like it. This handful of killers could be the spark to possibly throw ever black man back under the microscope. They could disrupt any potential fix that the current pres might pull off.

BTW, as shitty as she is, I don't see things going further downhill for blacks if Hilary gets elected. She's as corrupt as the system has been for the last 60years. At the least, blacks will be in the same place. However, I don't see anything...absolutely nothing positive coming out of a Trump presidency. Maybe, blacks with at least 5 million in the bank will get tax breaks or business breaks. Not the everyday, black man. With this going on I'm seeing the potential for blacks loosing steps instead of moving forward or holding steady. If this guy is talking about bombing muslims, building a fence for mexicans...where do you think his stance will be on "black militants" if this takes as long as Furgeson? You see he hasn't spoken out or condemned it. He hasn't made a statement or appearance about what's going on...you know why?

I think the Dallas shooter was a model citizen until the shooting along with the hate.

Actually, I heard that he had been rejected by a pro-black group and had been perusing different groups online who were talking about killing police. If a person can just suggest you do some shit, you do it and you don't know them...you probably have some issues/problems. It's different when you are dooped into fighting for your country. Not everyone in the military is stable :smt042 I can attest to that after 10 years and those are guys who didn't see battle. These guys who are seeing battle or who are disgruntled because they got caught in the middle of this bullshit in the Middle East. They have issues. They carry a lot of baggage and hate. They've seen bodies is various ugly situations and they aren't built to handle it. Many of these kids have never cleaned a fish or quartered a chicken. Just imagine walkin' or crawlin' over body parts...sleepin' next to bodies...hearing friends die or listening to the moans of amputees. It's fucked up.
