Thanks. Yeah I have a small tummy I need to get rid off and just be in shape for day to day stuff. I'm not trying to get hulked out but want to look yummy for the women
So here's an updated pic. I'm back to my regimen and feeling good, I am still not able to wear a bikini confidently in public but I'm getting there! I've lost a good 20+ lbs in the past 14 mos and I would like to tone to add more definition, slim down in the tummy and thighs but I am loving the progress I've made thus far! Not bad for 41 yrs w 4 babies
Yeah. Me too. I joke with my friends and say I look like I'm in my first trimester. But yeah I'm just try to gut bust. Just after I finish this Jr. Whopper meal with a shake and that honey bun at home
Lol! IKR! That's when I be like... Let me get up in the gym and burn off at least most of it. Sometimes I do think I workout to maintain.
Thanks North Lol @ GL & Dude I try not to sabatoge too terribly bad but I think we all get like that. I buy myself or make myself something chocolate and when I get that craving strong enough I treat myself and feel guilty afterwards
You look great, and props to you on the gradual shedding of more than 20 lbs. Defnitely enjoy your progress as it's a great feeling and an awesome accomplishment! One of the reasons I joke that I workout to maintain is because I generally don't deprive myself of my likes. I have cut back significantly on the bad vices over the years and I generally exercise 4-5 times per week. That said... when an occasion arises... I will partake in the vices. Good example is this weekend where I went to the Cheesecake factory which is one of my favorite restaurants. I do well at avoiding it which is hard sometimes seeing as I live within 15 min of two locations. This time (as usual) I left with a dessert (usually the chocolate cake), but then I knew without a doubt the next morning would be a longer workout in the gym. I generally do well, except with this damn gut. My problem is that I simply hate exercising the abs.
Yeah. I've gotten better. I'm drinking a lot of water and no sodas but I do indulge in Powerade or lemonade once in awhile. I have a sweet tooth so I'm going more for fruit and eating dry cheerios (instead of chips)
Thanks! I was actually doing the math this am after weighing myself (try not to go by the scale, but I have a bad habit of jumping on the darned thing) but I have actually lost a little over 33 lbs in apprx 2 years. I am really feeling myself today! So proud because I was so lost for a while and had nearly given up on getting back into shape. I am like you, I don't want to necessarily give up all of those wonderful foods and alcohol (wine) I enjoy, but I have learned that I can do so but within moderation. I am like a child however if I have bad foods lying around, I have a tendency to pick and pick at them until I am feeling guilty after polishing something off. Lol so I try to keep only good foods around and indulge only occasionally. I have found eating whole foods and limiting my sugars and breads have jump started my weight loss and I am feeling better and better every day! Now that I am over many of the hurdles I was facing, I am tackling better, healthier habits and exercising more!
Absolutely! Moderation is the key. I've also been one to keep nibbling on the bad stuff if it's in the house. So... I really limit how much of that I'll buy. A big one for me is ice cream. I can easily eat it everyday, but of course that's a big part of how I got the tire around my waist. So, I had to totally stop buying it for the house. I will get it on occasion, but it's truly like not more than 5 times per year. Instead I'll just treat myself to a single serving of ice cream from a shop on occasion. Another was Pepsi. Absolutely loved it and always had it in the house. Now, I may have a Pepsi once a week (if that much) in a restaurant that serves it. I've been having salads for lunch for about 3 months now, and suprisingly I'm liking them. Once in a while I'll get a fruit smoothie from Jamba Juice for lunch, and on Friday I still treat myself to Chipotle or sometimes a burger. The exercise part was sort of easy because I like to walk a lot. It was easy to add in bicycling, and even running. Speaking of running, I need to start training soon for my next big one this fall
I hate running and as I get older it becomes harder on my knees and back. I used to swim, and I'd love to buy myself a bike and just go riding. I should try to run in one of these fun runs one day... And smoothies are soooo yummy! I wish mine tasted like tropical smoothie or Jamba Juice lol mine are boring!
Thanks, I've been considering it because my jump game is garbage but not yet. It was my top left side of my back near my spine giving me paralyzing pain. I still feel it slightly but it's not aching no more. My gorgeous redheads Becca and red head mama, you guys will be happy to hear that I relented on working out and took your advice of healing for a week now I'm back it! Kinda rough 1st day back, body so sore like it's day 1 all over again. Got my mile time down to 7:30 which left me winded.... 2 whole minutes off from my best still grrrrrrrr
I'm glad to hear that. Keep up the good work it's paying off. You'll be ready to verse me in an arm wrestle in no time.
Yesss, I am happy to hear that! Glad you're back at it now and feeling all right. You'll be running a 5:30 mile in no time. Just as long as your back cooperates. Happy healing! My money is on Becca with the arm wrestle. Us redheads are stronger than we look.
I can see why you don't gamble, you would lose your money all the time. I could beat you and Becca at arm wrasslin with both hands tied behind my back at the same time!
