Too cool! I shook Obama's hand. Couldn't help but notice how soft it was. Felt weird in that respect. My hand was tougher than that by the time I finshed middle school, just from climbing trees and doing yard work. I would have loved to meet champ. I just wanted to hear him joke or talk shit in person. He still seemed to have the same personality while suffering from Parkinson's. He just moved slower that's all.
Just in keeping with the IR theme, below is a vid of muhammad ali's views on race mixing... followed by a pic of him and his grandson.
They forgot about the time when he went to Iraq and brought those hostages back.
All we elect for President lately are draft dodgers. Dubya, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump were all of age during the Vietnam conflict, and all of them found a reason to skip out on serving. John Kerry and John McCain were war heroes and voters acted like they weren't shit.
I’m a MASSIVE boxing. I’m on all the forums. So I can only start this by judging Ali as the boxer. He was the greatest in his era. He fought everyone. The butcher don’t care what’s on the table, he’s chopping it up That was Ali’s motto. Current fighters should take note. I do thing if he fought any fighter maybe, bar a prime Tyson it would be a brawling azz-wooping in Ali’s favour. Last year (Or was it the year b4) we had Mayweather Vs Pac-Man. Manny was a sore loser and moaned about his shoulder. Adrenaline is a mother. It’s why a mofo can get shot and still drive himself or walk himself to a hospital. Ali fought with a broken jaw for 15 rounds !!!! Ali the Man ? People forget that Muhammad Ali was SAVAGE with white people. God only knows what he'd make of a site like this (lol) They couldn’t even wait til his body was all the way cold to start lying when the evidence is out here, BEEN out here. “He was such a gentle giant! We loved him and this is what I shall tell my children.” No chump, he lit into y’all asses, y’all hated it. They kill me with that mess What I like EVEN MORE is he never took a single word of it back. I don’t recall Ali ever back-pedalling with his words. He was NOT afraid of these racists in stance of not fighting in Vietnam war I do think Ali over-stepped the line with Frazier calling him a gorilla and ugly and an uncle tom was uncalled for. Especially when Frazier was nothing off the sort and Frazier loaned Ali money when he was banned for three years at boxing. I think the irony between the two is when Ali was lighting the Olympic torch in 96, Frazier was outside desperately trying to flog his auto-bio and do some sign in’s to make some money and I think even Ali admitted that he should not have said some of the things he said about Joe. But folks didn’t give a f*ck about Ali until he started shaking. He actually went broke for standing up for what he believed in. He was truly the GOAT in more ways than one.
I think people connected to the sports/entertainment worlds are more likely to get into IR in general... Once upon a time, bm had the reputation that as soon as they made it (in entertainment or sports) they get themselves a ww. Not sure that reputation was so deserved, but nowadays you see similar trends in bw and all other minorities who make it in entertainment or sports... They all seem more likely to have a white spouse than the general population, in my observation... Hmmm...
Because the majority of people they meet will be white as they scale up the social ladder in America. Notice how a lot of celebrity hotspots are in predominantly white areas. The people they meet will reflect that. Happens to famous latinas too, I can't think of any well known latinas who are with latino men currently.
Its interesting when you watch the video and see that his daughter married a wm. It does not bother me one bit that she married a wm. She is happy and that is what matters. It seem to bother others though. Why? Especially here...why?
Eva Longoria is with a Latino. Wanda DeJesus(from Robocop 2 , Blood Work and others) is married to Jimmy Smitts(Star Wars Episode 3). Actor Hang S. Noor, who was in the film The Killing Fields remained in his community among his own people. He didn't want to live the Hollywood lifestyle. He wanted to use his accomplishments to inspire the people in his community until he was murdered.
