So the scumbag shooter wasn't a religous extremist at all. According to several sources he had a Grinder account (gay Tinder) and he hung out at the very same LGBT club for years. I'm guessing this piece of shit was some deeply repressed/conflicted closet-case.
You know, that probably is the case. I recall watching the video American Beauty. I saw it only once and for years afterwards I couldn't understand the symbolic meaning of the rose It wasn't until 1999 did the answer came to me. The rose was the only thing that was ever truly loved in one form or another. The scene with the Marine watching Kevin Spacey work out and he goes over to Spacey's garage gym and kisses him. Spacey is surprised by the gesture and politely turned the Marine down. After that, he goes back in Marine mode and shoots Spacey to death. It briefly revealed that the Marine was, himself a closeted homosexual. It was bad enough for him to learn from his son was a gay hustler. In the film The Woodsman, Kevin Bacon played a reformed sexual predator trying to find some semblance of a normal life. But he has to face his past in more ways than one One, from his co-workers if they found out and a an he observed daily as the man was on the hunt for a young victim. On a dream, he confronts the predator and nearly beats him to death because he saw himself in the predator. This man who had a wife and son, could not come to grips with whom he really was. He saw a reminder of it. In his mind(I am only speculating), he hated what he saw And he hated himself. He felt the need to destroy that true self. To do it he had to destroy the reminder(s).
Probably. If he is Islamic, I would guess that shit came into extreme conflict with his sexuality, especially after hearing about his father and his own views.
Of course he was a religious extremist. He traveled to Saudi Arabia twice, said he hated gays, jews, blacks and beat women..called the Boston bombers his "brothers", laughed and taunted his classmates when 9/11 happened, pledged allegiance to, and carried out ISIS's orders. One gay guy said he was contacted by him on Jack"d a gay App, and just happened to walk past him and recognized him outside the club one hour before the shooting..(hmmm). A couple of men are claiming they have seen him there "a dozen times", yet eye witnesses inside said he seemed very unfamiliar with the layout and because of this, more were not killed. The gay aspect is a deflecting ruse that this was a pig following ISIS's world orders.
What motivation would people have to lie about seeing him at the gay club multiple times before? Also the New York Post is reporting that even his ex-wife is saying he was a closeted gay man. http://nypost.com/2016/06/13/shooter-used-to-visit-orlando-gay-club-use-gay-dating-apps/ We will probably never know exactly what his motivations were. But it seems to me that a man who was so conflicted with his sexuality that he wanted to kill people, would probably come up with a reason to divert suspicion away from his true motive. And what better way for an Arab-American person to explain an act of terror, than to claim they were following ISIS's orders, because he knows he will automatically be believed.
He very well may have been both ISIS and gay (as well as many other things). Clearly people who are a part of such groups and do these things are very twisted. Does it really surprise you that they would be battling inner demons regarding religion and sexual orientation??
Agreed, the article below gives details about him asking other men out on dates, and going to other gay bars in the past. If true, its clear he was a very disturbed, sexually confilicted, self-hating, time bomb that finally exploded and killed innocent people. Part of his denial of his sexuality could very well have been embracing the radicalized and perverted form of Islam that ISIS and other groups spew forth. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/report-orlando-nightclub-shooter-visited-222620444.html
This is what his ex said.. When asked if she believed Mateen was gay, Yusufiy responded, “I don’t know. He never personally or even physically made any indication while we were together of that, but he did feel very strongly about homosexuality.” His current wife said he was targeting a Disney Hotel as well. I don't know what motivates people in big world events. This story has huge political repercussions. The same gay men also say he went gay bar hopping, yet two bar owners refute it, as does a bartender. All I'm saying is be suspect or at least aware of this new "spin" in the Media, because understand, the FBI don't interview you twice and tap your phone because you're a closet homosexual. (Maybe in Hoover's day.) So yeah...not trusting this completely.
White America will be blaming muslims again smh...just not the real issues like guns being available to anyone who wants them and mental health problems ....:smt021
Sooooo,,, Muslims are not at fault??? Soooo,,, ISIS are not Muslims??? You don't think it's considered a "mental health problem" to fly a pair of airplanes into the twin towers???
The argument that mainstream Muslims make is that radical, terrorist, jihadist like ISIS, Boko Haram, lone wolfs, ect. are not true followers of Islam, and are perverting their religion for their own reasons. The Klan claim they are "Christians" but you dont hear people blaming "radical Christian terrorists" for their bloody, evil and ongoing acts. Timothy McVeigh (although some dispute this), Anders Breivik and countless others identified as Christians, yet their crimes do not get assigned to Christianity.
My apologies if I offended you. I should reword my statement. I blame radical type Muslims (The ISIS type). But in saying that, I can't physically tell them apart so I lump them together.
I really wish we had some other terminology for these groups and individuals. I notice they are saying "radicals" today. But I just don't like calling them Muslims, Christians, whatever. Their actions go against the religions they are claiming to be part of.
As Morgan Freeman said as Alex Cross in the film Along Came A Spider, "You do as you are." I remember one time in college, the Christian club invited everyone to join. They said, "If you are a devout Christian or even a radical Christian, join us." I stopped using the word radical because it is a matter of opinion for the individual, like the saying, "I believe, therefore, I am." That pretty much clinches it for a seeker of self-validation. They will call themselves Christians, Muslims, Patriots, Freedom Fighters. At the end of the day, these are lonely people whom, by and large, want to be a part of something greater than themselves. It's all possible once one believes.
Agreed because nowadays... Politicians simply grab on to it for political gain. I was on another board where one person went on and on about calling the shooter "Radical Islamic Extremist". In my mind the shooter was a violent, sick, hate-filled person. If I'm a surviving victim and/or loved one of one of those murdered... What the heck do I care about what someone brands the killer.
IMO this is the PERFECT analogy and so many people miss it. Islamic radicalism is a political movement, not a religious one. They want control, not religious piety. If the Islamic faith was strictly about fanaticism the world would be burning. Indonesia is a Muslim country. Turkey is a Muslim country. Both are quasi-secular and peaceful. People are allowing their fear, bigotry and mistrust of the other cloud their rational mind. This wasn't a plot orchestrated by ISIS. This fool declared his allegiance to ISIS but there is no proven link other than his own internet searches. The FBI said he was a lone wolf. This wasn't some sleeper cell. Also, FBI officials said their investigation so far has determined this was both a gay hate crime and an act of terror. The man was closeted about his sexuality and seems to have been deep in the closet. Gay men in Orlando had no motive or reason to claim they say Mateen out socially at gay spots unless it was true. This guy was the devil, why would gay men want to 'claim' him??
