Yea not sure how to go with this one. I mean the FBI interviewed him several times so the ball got dropped some where. His dad supported a terrorist group. but w/e

geez number was at 50 as of this post....

I wouldn't have suspected that this would happen at Orlando with it being well Orlando... but driving from Port St Lucie to there really showed conviction. I mean Palm beach is right there. Any how, sad to hear. Enjoy life while you can because you never know how much time you got.

My heart goes out to the loved ones of the victims. I know it's gonna happen anyway, but I hope politicians, religious extremists, and activist groups try their best to resist the urge to exploit this horrible event.

I don't think anyone would suspect a mass shooting to happen anywhere.

I've been moved to tears several times today thinking about this horrific tragedy. It hurts knowing there is so much hate in the world.

No that is a common position amongst those that I have spoken to. I am just extremely naive and this stuff hits me :(

Its so sad and the worst part is how quickly people just move on once shit like this happens. Does anyone even talk about the Boston bombing anymore? Hell haven't heard a thing about that church shooting a couple weeks after it happened. It's like meh shit happens and everyone forgets smh

I think it's a dangerous thing when it becomes no big deal and almost "expected". We should never become hardened to such things.

    Very sad indeed.

I agree but what can be done? Seriously I always wonder what can really be done to stop this.

Locally, the Boston Bombing still gets attention with Fundraisers, the local sports teams hosting victims, etc. but every year it becomes less and less. It was reported that this shooter referenced the bombers in his 911 call and as a result everyone around here is locked in to this story.

This is very tragic. One shooter. 50 lives taken. President Obama has had more of these tragic events than any president and still no one gets the message about civility, tolerance, acceptance and compassion.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims of this terrible tragedy and prayers that it is not played as an opportunity to use the tragedy to harm people in the Muslim faith. ONE MAN did this. Not the whole Muslim community.

Altering gun laws that are so lax that people on the terrorist watch list can buy assault rifles without issue would have absolutely no effect, right?

Didn't think you would sound so easily defeated when you could say the same about pretty much every other issue that any other politician brings up, yet you keep faith in those battles.

It is. If only you didn't have to have guns over there.

I don't think no guns in the answer. The bad guys will just have access to guns still meanwhile law abiding citizens will be penalized. Just my opinion though.

It is sad that there are people that are filled with so much hate in their heart that they could do such terrible and thoughtless thing such as take countless lives just because they don't support a lifestyle. It is sad that people will soon forget this horrible incident the same way they have forgotten and don't talk about all of the other countless horrible and tragic events of the past. America and its citizens have become desensitized to death, danger, hate, and random acts of stupidity we are living in a sad state of the world....
