These youngin's pants are too tight to come up with good words (or good dances). "On Fleek" - WTF is that? You know, I always keep my (old ass) feet and ears to the street, but I can't even understand half of the gibberish the new (rap) music is spewing. I sat down w/my nephew to ask him who was the best/fave MC and he gave me the name of a few lames. So we sat down, listened to and broke down the cipher/lyrics. My niece came along and chimed in as I was roasting the crap out of the new MCs and their lack of lyrical skills. She says, "Unc...we don't listen to the words anymore. We just like the hot beats." That's a lie, I heard you recite that garbage - LOL.

Anyway, all of the good words/sayings are stuck in the 80s, 90s (cheddar, Poser, livin' large, kicks, hella, swish, whip, honey/dip, clique, (got) hops, luv, mack, hardlegs, fresh, bomb, bucket, dope, dime, grimies, freak, gwop, buster, diesel, stank, hooptie, skeezer, strawberry, house/in', nice, etc)....the only thing that newbs are good at is recycling words and clothing of previous decades (and mismatching at that) - :smt042

    ...Hot boxin (a hardtop car) - wtf...newbs...gotta lov'em:smt060l,

  14. assert yourself and you wont get friendzoned. I tell them I fuck on the first date as a joke, it gives them a laugh and I might get laid. win/win

I thoroughly enjoy listening to Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole. Kendrick has sick beats and lyrics and J.Cole truly paints the picture. There is some form of decency left.

There are a lot of good MCs, but they don't really get played on the radio. Actually, I'm a little sad because it seems that the Top Dawg MCs are falling off. The last year and some change have been week for Kendrick and Q (so I'm hurt). J. Cole is a very mature MC. He has a different flavor...his music is leans more towards thought than it does fun. Now, don't get me wrong...I listen to a few BS MCs too. I like some Feddy Wap stuff, but he's (or Future) never gonna make my hot MC list. If I gotta listen to dope boy/drug use music, I'm on that Kevin Gates...Under Achievers...shit like that. I'm just pretty much tired of the "Drill Type" rap that's out there...bunch of idiots mumblin (like Designer/Panda) and shit. Hot song, 4 or 5 sentences repeated for 4 minutes - WTF? Give me some Clear Soul Forces...hell, even G Easy over some of this lame stuff. I see Kanye loosing his touch and Young Jeezy barely makin' any noise. I swear that when Jay Z drops his half of the Beyounce lemonade marketing scheme...his shit better be fire. I heard 1 track and it's like that.

But at least there is rap music. I'm not sure what happened to Rock and Roll or Alternative? They got me listening to my old shi - smh. Pop has been pure garbage created to make money off of Disney aged kids :vom: and it seems that R&B artist are trying to cash in on crossing over (Chris Brown...you can do better than that). All that tight jeans, dress wearin', number seeking cross over stuff is just doing the music business in.

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Yeah, I'm not fuckin' with these new rappers. I look up cyphers on youtube and pick new MCs to listen to that way. Only way I'm gonna get a steady access to bars and not have to wade through the bullshit. Those BET and XXL cyphers be wack as shit sometimes so I go for the lesser known ones where they feature MCs and ONLY MCs. Trap rappers and RnB singers. It's no longer a cypher when Fetty Wap and Future start singing hooks n' shit.

The slang, I'm not up on most of that shit and I'm 26. I feel more out of touch with my generation every day when it comes to slang and music. Bae, fleek, AF, woke, etc.

Don't get it twisted though. People still say hella, especially in Northern California. We're never getting rid of that word.

Yes, I used to date this Italian girl from Palo Alto. She was always talkin' bout Hella this or Hella that :smt042

IDK why new rappers mumble/sound like someone who's drunk and ready to fall asleep?:smt021

I agree. I hate the mainstream shit. I don't even bother with the radio it just disappoints me. Apart from rnb Fridays.

I used to like Fetty Wap when he first came out and had an original sound. Now every song sounds the same and he just moans and groans to get by. He sounds drunk in his songs lol.

I've only really listened to Two Phones by Kevin Gates lol which is kinda a cheesy substanceless song. Maybe his other shit is alright?

I love the true lyricists who are a rarity these days as you said. That's why I kinda only listen to a select few J.Cole and Kendrick.

Lol @ tight jeans. Some men can pull it off. I think the baggy look is way better though.

Never really got into Kanye. But the songs I have heard are decent. As for Jay Z.. He has enough money to just retire already.
