Muhammad Ali has passed away at the age of 74. Damn 2016 enough already! http://www.nbcnews.com/news/sports/muhammad-ali-greatest-all-time-dead-74-n584776
Only Michael Jordan can come close to the fame Ali had in his prime. Back when a championship heavyweight fight was the #1 sporting event in the world. His stance against the Vietnam War made him a genuine global hero.
The Champ will be sorely missed. I remember one story I read of The Champ's relationship with a Italian woman and he replied that Italians are not White. His ordeal was like Jack Johnson whom he admired greatly. Ali was a great poet whose poems are never boring.
Never has there been a truer LEGEND and i am particularly proud of the fact that one of his most memorable fights was on African soil. RIP
Muhammad Ali was and will always be a legend in sports. A true champion. Like everyone else, he had his setbacks. He fascinated me when I was a kid. He even made one movie called The Greatest. In the film The song The Greatest Love Of All was featured. It was not as popular as Whitney Houston's rendition. Ali even had a Saturday morning cartoon. It was like others like Emergency Plus One, Return To The Planet Of The Apes, Chuck Norris and his Karate Kommadoes, and Mister T. He was probably the most influential athlete ever. His name is mentioned on a lot of films and shows. I remember seeing him with Sugar Ray Leonard and Mike Tyson on Arsenio Hall's show. It was interesting to see three generations of world champion boxers on the same stage. To The Greatest, I wish to say thank you. May you Rest In Final Peace.
Reign In Paradise, Champ. And can we please not turn this thread into the usual "race debate" that some of ya'll obsess over. Thank You.
Was fortunate enough to meet him once, I will always remember shaking the hand of true, true greatness. He was a lion in winter, may he rest well.
