Hahah. Yes the pronunciation of their words good lord. I know both Irish and Scottish people and yes its like i dont give a fuck if ur abusing me right now just don't stop talking! Angelic accents indeed. The Boston accent is very different too. I used to work with about 6 English colleagues and it blew me away how much their accents differed as well.

    That does it

You guys have convinced me! I'm officially going to Australia. My business is finally taking off so I can afford to go later this year. I'm doin it. I want to get out of the country and meet some beautiful new women.

So I need help from you lovely Aussie ladies and Aussie lady lovers. Where exactly should I go while I'm there? What sites and events should I hit?

I'm not even sure when is the best time to go. I'm thinking maybe later in the year when it's summer there. What do you all think?

Actually, should this be a new thread?

Congrats on the business taking off. That must be a very rewarding feeling.

I guess where specifically to come would rely on where your interest lay.

I think a lot of Americans love Sydney & Melbourne as they're big cities.

What would you ultimately like to get out of your trip apart from snow bunny spotting?

My interests are all over the place. But I'd like to try some active things and get some culture. Is there a good spot to learn surfing? Do you know if the Sydney Opera House is worth it?

Also, I definitely need to get some nice pictures for my brethren here, so speak up if you know where the beauties are lol.

What do you think an American in Australia needs to see?

Ok well that's a good thing. I guess it depends on whether you want to do the whole iconic buildings etc thing. I mean the Opera house wasn't appealing to me because it's just not my scene. But i wouldn't discourage you from seeing it for yourself. And if you went to Sydney you could go to Bondi beach which is pretty cool.

My god you are one brave American though!! Wanting to learn surfing. Most Americans are petrified of what lurks beneath. So kudos to you! Lol.

Haha i think you should just drag his ass with ya!!!

I guess you have a lot of options. I know the American sailors that i hung out with last yr loved Brisbane. The main city is relatively close to the Gold Coast. Then if you head in the other direction you have the Sunshine Coast which is a very chill beautiful spot. We have the theme parks here also.

The nightlife here in Brisbane sucks big hairy balls. If you're looking for some bumping n grinding you're better off sticking to Melbourne or Sydney.

Hope that helps a litfle. You will be well loved and welcomed whereever you go though.

You seem to be one who'd love to enjoy the occasional night out. How is it that you're still in Brisbane if there's no nightlife? Do you prefer Brisbane overall over the other major cities like Sydney and Melbourne?

What are you trying to say? I'm a wild woman or something ? I have no time for the nightlife all i do is work. Lol. That's the sad reality. Melbourne and Sydney are expensive as the high heavens. I'd be sleeping on a piece of cardboard if i moved there. You have to have a pretty amazing job to live there and even then what you earn is spent on housing bills n food.

I'd prefer to be deprived save up and go to the States where it's really happening.

Lol! No, I'm sure you're pretty well balanced. Makes sense about the expensive cities. Also, I know being a good Mom to the little guy is top priority.

When I get Down Under, I would probably rent a cottage or a small apartment outside the cities of either Sydney or Melbourne. Hotels , motels and resorts often charge an arm and a leg if you have overnight guests.

Additionally, I'll have my saxophone with me and I will be practicing for a few hours if I get bored(of course, I have buy one beforehand or buy one in Australia).

Haha. Nope I'm a workaholic lol. Yeah. I actually wanted to fly to Melbourne last weekend but it was like $800 just for me n my son. I can get to New York right now for $999 that's how crazy it is!

Yeah you're right about that! Have you thought about using Airbnb? Everyone i speak to swears by it. I'm going to use it next year for my trip over. It's wayyyy cheaper than a hotel!

Wow! Sounds pricey. I was pleasantly suprised that my airfare to Toronto was pretty reasonable. I think it was like $213 roundtrip, and I was expecting to pay about $300-350.
