That's actually really sad to hear especially coming from his own family. If there was more bi-racial people he wouldn't have to reel that way. Keep swirling peoplez!

Thank you. I loved it. That Southern Hospitality really does exist! Lol. Was a huge difference going from Tennessee to NY lol people were not so nice or helpful and wow the homeless situation was appaling. That sure was an eye opener for me.

I'd be out there for four weeks. gotta make the most of it.

It was actually an American man sitting on the plane next to me going over there that said if there's any place you should visit you have to visit Seattle. Where the forest meets the water. He sold it to me so well! So I'm looking forward to that.

Oh it's not? My friend told me she walked around Harlem and the Bronx by herself i looked at her like she was crazy lol but yeah she said never did she feel unsafe. I don't know if being an Indian helps lol ppl don't wanna mess with her. Or her Harlem shake skills are lethal.

I'd love to do it alone. Less stress. But my mum is a great travel buddy so I'll go with her and bring my lil man too.

Yes! The Brooklyn Bridge was great! Got some good photos there!

I'm sure i could say Hi. If i can get rid of the tag alongs for a minute ahah.

Agreed! We need a lot more light brown people in the world. I should've done my part when I was younger:)

Yes, the Southern Hospitality does exist. That the only time I embrace my southern roots:). While I was born and raised in NYC, both parents and most of my relatives are from South Carolina and Georgia

Yes, it totally makes sense to see lots of places seeing as you're traveling several thousand miles to the US. That's a long flight. I rememeber flying to Hawaii, and I was thinking the flight would never end:).

Harlem is pretty big. A lot of areas in Harlem are much better, but there's still a number of spots that I was definitely advise you to avoid. Yankee Stadium is actually just across a short bridge from Harlem. It's one of those tricky areas as there's nothing to worry about at game time. Other times... most of the surrounding streets aren't too safe. The Bronx County Courthouse building is nearby, and the stretch along 161st Street has plenty of activity on weekdays.

It is good to travel alone at times. Whenever you do come back, I can let you know more specifics about NYC and areas in which I'd advise you to avoid.

No worries, especially seeing as I just did the same:)

    How old is your youngster?

She sure is one hot lady. I envy her situation escaping to the states so young and making it relatively big living the high life. Such a shame about Nick though.

She's actually kind of annoying to me. Yeah she's cute but so are thousands of other women walking around. I have never understood her appeal.

    Agreed! :freehug:

I have to admit the NY accent is pretty cool. It's kinda aggressive and very forward. Oh god yes it certainly feels that way lol. 19 hours up in the air wedged between people with no leg room and lack of alcohol is quite tough. But hey. It's completely worth the torture.

Thank you for the heads up. We actually made some friends in Memphis. The Memphis Flippers CEO in fact lol he was so adamant that we needed to see how the other side live. I suppose it's like everywhere though you wander down the wrong street anywhere no matter the country.

That would be cool and very much appreciated. I mainly wanna know where the best shopping is at? Even your footlockers are something else!! love it.

Unfortunately he is not so young anymore he's 10 in a few months.

Hope you're having a great night!

Yeah i'm with you. I don't like fake people. Pretending to be something they're not. At the end of the day she's not American so shouldn't talk like one when suits. I think she's attractive but trying too hard at the same time. Kinda annoying when all her songs sound the same too. I think No Mediocre was a good song. But it went downhill from there.

LOL! You know I never realized how strong my NY accent is until I moved here, and folks would make mention of it. I'm sure it will be with me forever:).

I'll think the same someday when I'm on a flight to Australia.

That's so cool, to meet the Flippers. Those dudes are no joke.
You're so right about many areas having streets/areas to be avoided and so on.

In NYC it all depends on what you're shopping for as there's lots of it. Macy's continues to be one of my favorite stores, but it can be pricey.

Yup - The little guy is growing up. Be ready... those teen years are getting closer:).

I imagine that at this point it's Saturday AM in your part of the world. I not too long came in from work, and I'm unwinding a bit. Definitely looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.

Haha! That's so cool you still have it! It's so strong it's hard to shake it. Funny how much the accent varies from state to state. I've heard the same about Aussies here. I mean you get the REAL Aussie sounding people like Steve Irwin lol and Julia Gillard. But apparently we sound different too from state to state. In the few states we have haha.

Lol Yes you will! Hopefully you'll have some good entertainment or bring a plane full of chocolate with you lol.

Yeah they're so talented right! Beale Street goes off. That place felt like home. So much so.

Ok. I see. Yeah i did go to MACYs but didn't get anything lol. Dr Jays was a little less exciting than I had envisioned. lol.

Yeahhhh I reacon! He's been an angel from the get go. I'm thinking those horns may creep up as the double digits roll in. haha.

Bring on the weekend for you!! Enjoy that sleep in. Yeah it's like 9.45am here. And just can never sleep in :smt071 but that's ok.
