Yeah people want to jump off a car when the starter and alternator goes out. Its just its time of going out. It seems they go out at the same time though....aaargh
Yeah... My baby is in great condition and she is high in miles so it's just simply time for some of these repairs. What I hate is that many of them come all at once and it makes saving money difficult. Guess that's part of the emergency fund and it helps to plan ahead!
Oh yes! When it rains, it pours. Both of my starters went out around the same time, but I saved a bit by replacing one of them myself. Now, I'm staring at a need for new tires. Oh joy. What year is your Maxima? They've had some awesomes styles, but I can't get with the styling of the new for '16 Maxima.
I hear ya, tires cost an arm and a leg for my Maxima since I have the sports limited edition. Grrrrrowl I feel like every other year it's something! I have a 2010 and I adore her! Her name is Lovely because she is gorgeous and she is the color of Cabernet Sauvignon...thinking that would have been a great name for her lol
A Honda can take 300,000 miles easily and still be reliable enough to travel up and down the coast. It's one of them cars that can take some abuse and still be faithfull like man's best friend. They also depreciate rather slowly. From an investment perspective you really get your monies worth. If I were their CEO,i would take a bit of risk in the product line. All they need to do right now is bring the prelude back and make it 6 speed rwd V6, keep it vtec and NA while making it turbo friendly as possible. Those guys would eat that up like peanut butter and crack.

Yes, I've already gotten 260K out of a '92 Accord before buying an '02 Accord V6. Can you tell I'm a Honda guy?. I think Honda definitely needs to have a car such as the Prelude. I even think they need to be playing in that same market (with a midsized Acura coupe/sedan) to compete with the likes of Infiniti G37/50, Lexus IS/RC, and so on. I never could understand why Honda is so hesitant to jump into the RWD game. Granted the current FWB platforms are excellent, but in terms of performance they simply cannot compete with the RWD-based cars.
Yep! And yes, I had someone who knew how to race my car with the paddles one time and I was like I couldn't tell you how to do it again lol
Oh, OK. Yes, the paddle shifting is cool. I don't have the paddles in my car. It's on the shift lever. I move it to the right, then tap it forward for upshifts and back for downshifts. Manual shifting an automatic transmission is close to what is done when driving a car with a manual transmission. I showed one of my friends how to do it, and I think I've created a monster. He was thrilled because in his words... He doubts he'll ever learn to drive a car with a manual transmission.
Sweet, but I thought the AWD version was automatic only??? Anyways, I imagine the maintainance is probably insane like any other Jag. However, it's probably a non-issue for a person who can afford this ride.
I think you are right. smh The manual seems to be only in the RWD V6 version. I don't know wtf these car companies are thinking about these days. Maybe there is an issue with putting that much power in an AWD manual.That's something I may research when I get the time.
Agreed! Well... I'm sure a couple of major factors are the rise of DCTs, then the fact that the number of people wanting manual transmission equipped cars has been on a steady decline for decades. So, from the dollars and cents perspective, I can understand why auto manufacturers are moving away from manual transmissions. It's unfortunate for those of us who love the experience of a car with a manual transmission.
True, but I can't think of any that have 500+ horsepower that are also awd and manual. Can't help but wonder if there is also a mechanical reason. In the meantime I'll probably just stick with rwd.
It would cost too much to beef up the transmission and axles. It's not feasible on the money making side of things. Popping the clutch with 500+ horses would cause major damage.
