In between releasing a new album and showing his latest fashion line to the world, Kanye West has also been tweeting more than he ever has before in his life. He’s touched on every topic lately, from his record, to a fight with fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa, to his somewhat bizarre string of missives today, where he admitted to the world that despite his braggadocio, he may actually be drowning in debt.

According to his tweets, the hip-hop star is now $53 million in debt. That’s an enormous amount, and considering his success in almost everything he puts his name on, it’s difficult to believe that his financial situation is so dire. Is it really possible that he is that far in the hole?

Anything can happen in the entertainment industry, but it’s unlikely that he personally is in that much trouble. He has a lot going for him financially, and 2016 promises to be a good year for West in terms of making money. In fact, even just last year Forbes reported that West made an astounding $22 million. Is that all gone?

Don't confuse debt with net worth and I'm sure it's not all his. I guarantee nearly none is personal debt.

Kanye West asks Mark Zuckerberg for money after claiming to be millions in debt

Kanye West has been mocked on Twitter, after claiming to be $US53 million in debt and asking Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for help.

The music artist, known for his Twitter tirades, took to the social media platform to inform his followers of his apparent financial problems, asking fans to "pray" for him.

In a separate tweet, West asked Mr Zuckerberg to invest $1 billion into his ideas.

"Mark Zuckerberg I know it's your [birthday] tomorrow, but can you please call me," he wrote.

"World, please tweet, FaceTime, Facebook, Instagram, whatever you gotta do to get Mark to support me."

Social media users immediately took to Twitter to mock West's request, starting the hashtag #TellMarkZuckerbergWhatYouNeed.

Some people shared photos of expensive cars and homes, while others were more modest in their requests.

Twitter user Tony Lopez asked for a Pepsi, while Slaviska asked for "a new PC".

Some pointed out that West's request was likely misdirected, as Mr Zuckerberg does not have a Twitter account.

The tweets were among several sent by West in the past day, with the rapper also announcing he had delayed the release of his next album The Life of Pablo by one week.

West said he needed to work on the track Wolves, which features fellow artists Frank Ocean and Caroline Shaw.

The Grammy-winning artist launched the album in Madison Square Garden in New York last Thursday, NME reported.

On a side note, many say he is losing it or has lost it, including his former ghost writer.

True artists do not need publicity stunts to be recognized. Creating two consecutive fashion linea reminiscent of slave clothing and plantation clothing, along with promoting the Confederate flag on t-shirts to sell at your concerts, Is pathetic and desperate.

Very surprising when he made this statement.

I don't know what to think, other than he is bad with his money management.

And getting a bailout surely isn't going to change his spending habits. I'd imagine he will end up in the very same position in just a few years.

I can't feel sorry for someone who misuses their extraordinary financial gains. Unless of course they were swindled by a financial manager, but Kanye doesn't claim that ever happened.

People keep sleeping on Kim K's business acumen.

You KNOW she didn't marry Kanye without a lock box prenuptial agreement.lol

You on your own Mr. West.:smt009

    Kim's pocket's are straight.
