This Hero Took A Beating But Didn't Stop Until She Was Safe.
    Now, The Internet's Repaying Him

    August 26, 2015

Despite getting six stitches above his left eye and a swollen right hand that looked more like a water balloon, Maurice Osborne said he'd do it all again.

While riding the No. 3 train Wednesday morning at the Bergen Street station in New York City, Osborne said he heard screams from a woman, who investigators said was being sexually assaulted by 40-year-old Alvaro Dennica.

Osborne leaped into action and grabbed the man by the collar. He continued grabbing the man by his shirt, pulling him all the way up the subway station's steps and acgross Flatbush Avenue to the 78th Precinct, where he turned him in to police.

After the local news reported that the 37 year-old subway hero is livings in a Brooklyn shelter while studying to become a medical assistant, someone created a GoFundMe page to help him pay his expenses. In one week, donations have reached nearly $20,000.

Such a true example of heroism. That kind of heart belongs in the medical field. I hope the donations exceed just MA school and potentially push his education into nursing if he so desires. He deserves every ounce of appreciation he's getting. Too many just look the other way.

    • EXCLUSIVE: How Planet Hollywood hero helped apprehend druggie Navy vet who plowed into Times Square tourists
By Mary Kekatos For Dailymail.com18:57 EDT 18 May 2017, updated 21:32 EDT 18 May 2017

    • Kendix, 47, from Brooklyn, was in Times Square when Richard Rojas plowed into pedestrians on Thursday
    • The Planet Hollywood bouncer was at work when he heard screams and saw a car careen onto the sidewalk
    • Bradix chased after Rojas, who attempted to flee police following the crash
    • He sat on Rojas, while two others held his arms, until police arrived to arrest him
    • Bradix says it's 'nice to be appreciated' but he doesn't view his actions as heroic
A fast-acting bystander helped police capture the out-of-control motorist accused of mowing down more than 20 pedestrians - and killing one - in Times Square in New York City on Thursday.

Ken Bradix, 47, was at his job as Door Host Supervisor of the area's Planet Hollywood restaurant when Richard Rojas mounted the curb.

When the 26-year-old tried to flee the scene after crashing his car, Bradix got to him first - tackling him to the ground before others arrived to assist.

The bouncer laid on top of Rojas until police appeared to arrest him.

Bradix spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com about how the day's events unfolded and, while many have described the Brooklynite's actions as 'heroic', he says he doesn't see himself as a hero in any way.

Bradix (in black cap and black shirt) was at work when heard screams and saw a car careen onto the sidewalk. After seeing Rojas (center) attempt to flee the scene, the Door Host Supervisor was the first to tackle him to the ground before others arrived to assist.

Bradix clocked into work around 9:30am and was there for about an hour and a half when he heard screams.

'I was in between Planet Hollywood and another store when I saw a car careening up the sidewalk, cross the street and hit a light pole,' he told DailyMail.com

'And the driver got out of the car and was running and screaming. No words, just screams.'..

Chicago Bears' linebacker Jerrell Freeman saves a choking Texas lawyer's life by performing the Heimlich maneuver in the middle of Austin airport
By Matthew Wright 23 Jul 2017

A Chicago NFL player saved a man's life in a Texas airport after he saw the man choking in a Texas airport.

On Sunday, Chicago Bears' Jerrell Freeman performed the Heimlich maneuver on a man at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas.

The football player then posed with the person he saved - Austin area lawyer, Marcus Ryan - in a photo which he would then share on social media.

'CRAZY!! Just saved my guy Marcus Ryan's life by using the Heimlich maneuver in the middle of the Austin airport! WOW Mom would be proud haha,' he said in the post he shared on both Twitter and Instagram.

Ryan would comment on the post, adding: 'True. And I'm very grateful.'

'Thank you SSSOOOOO much for being there and saving the husband of my daughter, father of 3 of my darling little grandchildren, and all around best son-in-law,' said Ryan's mother-in-law on the post.

We are deeply indebted to you!'

Bear's guard Kyle Long cosigned the praise and said: 'U da man.'

It is unknown whether the two men knew each other, prior to the incident.

While the Texas native missed out on four games last season for breaking the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy, Freeman led in tackles for the Bears with 110. He is expected to report to camp on Wednesday in anticipation for training to start on Thursday.
