Man, I hope I'm out of this camp in about 2-3 years - probably towards San Diego more than heading back to L.A. -- And, I'm actually not in school, I teach Business English for some of the German companies in the Stuttgart area.

Shit, there’s a hell of lot more B(American)M in Idaho than in Germany! Yes, there being more BM in L.A. or any sizable city will produce more IR…yeah of course, LOL, but that wasn’t my point. -- I brought that up because if one is solely interested in IR you don’t necessarily have to go to Europe to find women who are into you when opportunity is right in your backyard, that’s what I was trying to say - at least in my opinion.

Look, if you have the finances to get your ass over here, the fortitude to establish your career or the cash flow in order to maintain a visa, the discipline to learn a foreign language as an adult and the coup de grace…be halfway decent looking – you should do juuust fine with a lot of German women. But damn, if you have those kinds of skills you should also be able to pull “anywhere”… Oregon, Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina, New York, Texas, anywhere. - The “willing” is ubiquitous!

Don’t get me wrong, I am NOT shittin on anyone’s desires for IR in Europe or Germany specifically, remember I’m currently in one of these relationships and intend on being in it until the day I die. But sometimes I talk to cats who make it seem like Europe is the black man’s paradise, like damn near all the women here are dying to be with a black man, like its less racist than the U.S., like the welcome wagon is going to meet you with a chocolate cake or some shit and I can only chuckle at the super optimism.

Some of the things that make Germany sound so appealing to BM are indeed true ok?...but...a lot is not so true; a bit of hype in my opinion. So from my perspective for whatever its worth, I think the reality is somewhere in the middle.

IF it is as simple as wanting to screw and flirt with some attractive Euro girls…okay cool. I say do your thing. I’m pretty certain you’ll have big fun. Do make sure to include the rest of the world like Australia, don’t forget places like Argentina and Spain, Singapore, Thailand, some places of course are better for us than others, but hey you have skills, find the niche locales and do your thing playa – the gold is in the journey. End of discussion.

However… if one is looking for something ‘more’ than physical or you are interested in actually living here as a resident, then it really deserves some consideration beyond the small percentage of “willing” white girls in Germany - who as I said in my last post really aren't all that hot aside from being thick (although that may be enough! LOL).

Anyway, if one is open to the possibility of real love there’s got to be more. If one is considering moving their life overseas (non-military), there are a lot more important things to consider…Will the communication gap be too much for you on a day to day basis in the long-term? Will the cultural differences ultimately be a problem, if not in your new location perhaps with your girl? Will you be able to get a decent job or establish the income you’d like when many locals are struggling? Are you ready to accept you have not one but two pre-qualifiers that may not always be in your favor: being an American and being black. Are you cool with living in a Socialist society?

I just wonder if for some Americans, black or white, European life might be better for a long, fun vacation rather than a long-term move. I think for some of us it’s that search for something better – the greener grass, and I can’t tell you how many Americans and other expats I’ve talked to who now appreciate their homeland so much more after living here for a while. It’s certainly a personal thing; everyone is different so you never know until you try it, that’s what’s important and that’s what I fully support!

One quick thing so that I don’t come off too negative about all this, because really I’m not -- if you are an engineer, in IT or studying to be in these types of technical industries I would definitely check out your opportunities, particularly with the U.S. government. You will basically be taken care of very nicely…generous salaries, housing allowance, generous vacation time, so check that out if that’s your area.

Once again, sorry for being so damn long-winded with the response.

Yeah we're still together and have a beautiful 22 month daughter. Probably getting married next summer. She's actually in Greece right now on vacation.

Marco, I don't think people think you are long winded at all. You seem to give a balanced, accurate idea of what it like and I think the guys here appreciate. :)

    Congrats on your little one.

For me the appeal has always been more english speaking countries similar to the US but cultures that actually care about the people like Norway, Australia, and Canada. No place is perfect but I pay attention to global markets and global economics and no other country in the industrialized world allows the corporations to make as much as they do with little to no taxes while their people struggle and suffer through massive unemployment and near depression like homelessness. Its just so shameful that all you want to do is leave not to mention the racism here is just fucking ridiculous in comparison to what I read and hear from family members. I'm still weighing my options but I would like to see myself out of here by 2014 if possible. Baring a massive overhaul I have no faith nor hope in this country.
Btw great post I repped you for it.

There are not more BM/WW couples in Germany than in L.A. or really any mid sized city - not even close. As another poster here pointed out, if for no other reason, there are far more BM in L.A. than Germany. However, as DK mentioned and I did as well in my original post, the intensity is stronger among "some" German women. I guess I can refer to it also as stronger itch for BM than in the U.S....(I believe)

But, lol, I'm sorry at the end of the day, too often I see the same shit as I did in the States!...some overweight, average to below average white chick with a black dude. So they're "still" not getting the cream of the crop. So just speaking for myself, it should be more than the "willingness" or itch of a WW.

Unless.....hey, you just wanna hit it because you can.

Hey man I appreciate that. I'm getting ready to log out because as you know depending on where everyone is at, I'm either 6-9 hours ahead of you, but I'm going to check the forum out again in a day or two...it's interesting actually and to tell you the truth it is a nice connection for me to interact again with cats from the states - I miss it.

Now I need to find a forum to talk about the NFL season starting up! I'm drowning over here with all the soccer.

ALmao @ nothing to do in L.A..... so far from the truth... its so untrue ....I don't think people on here even realized they just compared a CITY a to whole COUNTRY ....HAHAHA

please know this...every true Angeleno will always boast about L.A. having atleast 7 smaller city's within itself for every day of the week...& they all provide unique experiences (Santa Monica, Long Beach, Newport Beach, Hollywood, North Hollywood, Pasadena, Redondo Beach, Anahiem, Downtown L.A., Burbank/Glendale Silver Lake)... btw... San Diego is only a 1 1/2hrs away...& SD got about 5 different unique city's within itself ....

Another important thing to remember about L.A. is.... its the only place in the USA where the white dudes openly brag about being able to go skiing in the mountains ... and being able to have lunch on the beach 1 hour later.:drinkers:

This is probably the single most enjoyable post I have read from a newbie...that's how you come on smashing the boards without introducing yourself...take note potential trolls...when people say the old members are not welcoming, it because you come straight posting mug shots asking "how do I look"? I would be very surprised if this dude turned out to be troll...

Good have you on the boards Marco.:smt006

I would have to disagree with the fact that I or any other new person has to come here and be like Marco in our post to make a bunch of folks that have been here before us ...like us.. we are all adults and we are all unique with different experiences... however I will agree the Marco has posted great information... but as I say that... I must also say that I have never been to Morehouse ... dated a woman in germany... or for that matter even been to germany... I can only give you what I am... and in due time I believe you will be able to come to the determination that I'm far from stupid or uneducated.

Sorry ST - you are dead wrong, on all accounts. Plenty of stuff going on DT LA (just go to LA Live for example and look at all the IR couples there, cool restaurants etc, but there is oh so much more to LA than just DT. I see IR BM/WW couples every day, all the time, everywhere. Most are not by any means "living large". Also "bouncer letting you in".. that was funny, shows how little you do know about LA.
Where do you base your view on since you said you haven't been here??
I'm really confused. What LA are you talking about?? LOL. You have to take an L on that one my friend.
