This sucks. After this place is rebuilt and people are able to get back to their lives let's try listening to the scientists instead of politicans for once. "The world will be destroyed by fire instead of water this time" so the religious folk can sit this one out too.

I did listen to some. They said while 'global warming' didn't cause Harvey, it helped increase the rain due to moisture content.

The Governor of Texas told the people, l know the mayor said stay put, but l'm telling you to leave. Do what you must.

It's hard to second guess who's advice was best to heed.

 

East Texas residents are warned river levels could rise to 82 FEET as the Army is forced to open reservoir floodgates

Tyler County Judge Jacques Blanchette posted a grim warning on Facebook Wednesday evening after the floodgates on the Steinhagen Reservoir on the Neches River, about 65 miles north of Beaumont, Texas, were opened to 100 feet by the US Army Corp of Engineers.

'Anyone who chooses to not heed this directive cannot expect to be rescued and should write their social security numbers in permanent marker on their arm so their bodies can be identified. The loss of life and property is certain. GET OUT OR DIE!'

 

No that's not what he said. I watched the interview. He said they were flooded in 2001 so he was concerned they would flood again and didn't think it would be safe the first couple of days.

He's a jerk for sure.
