I know I was just speaking out in their minds right now, because let's be real. They run shit. We don't... yet.

Serious question and not to be a dick, but curious why you support this effect, yet condemn when women fight to want to finally "run shit"?

Its actually the Netherlands that do the entire Black pete nonsense. What is amazing is half the Dutch people I meet either say "Yeah its a very stupid racist tradition." the other half say "No its not offensive its telling a story it isn't meant to be racist! You aren't Dutch you don't understand!"

I kinda think H&M is trying to get their name in the news... Trying to be "relevant"... at black people's expense.

It's an easy way to gain publicity... probably worth the fleeting backlash it provokes.

And for every customer they lose (how many black people shop at h&m anyway?), they'll probably gain a few from the "anti-pc" (aka nazi) crowd.

H&M is popular with all nationalities, BP included. In fact, 2 weeks ago when a guy dressed in only red shorts and a gorilla mask, ran into a NYC H & M and pushed some racks over as a form of protest...

the video of it shows there were Black people still shopping there...
    Video is mid page:

Also, H & M did a popular campaign on empowering women that was lauded globally..black women were included in it

They definitely missed the mark on this hoodie one, though.
As a result, they have a new department now that is designed to not market anything that could offend anyone.

"...H&M first announced the appointment Tuesday on its Facebook page. In an email to The Associated Press on Wednesday, the retailer said Global Manager for Employee Relations Annie Wu, a company veteran, would be the new global leader for Diversity and Inclusiveness.
The retailer said on Facebook that it's "commitment to addressing diversity and inclusiveness is genuine, therefore we have appointed a global leader, in this area, to drive our work forward."

The Stockholm-based company reiterated in its Facebook announcement that "the recent incident was entirely unintentional" but "demonstrates so clearly how big our responsibility is as a global brand."

The case highlights how important it has become for multinationals to consider the different cultural views and sensitivities in their sales markets. That's especially true as social media makes it possible for an ad posted in one country to be shared and viewed around the world.

Not to get too far off topic, but imagine working for a company that calls your kids monkeys, but you can't quit because your kid has a preexisting condition & you don't want to risk your health insurance by being "last hired" (first fired) on some other job...

It's barbaric that ppl should have to depend on these caste-based dictatorships (corporations) for something like health care... Something to keep in mind for 2020...
