Two men and a 16-year-old girl have been charged with murdering a professional mixed martial arts fighter who was shot during a Florida home invasion in July, police said.

Roberto Ortiz and Jace Swinton, both 18, were arrested Friday along with high school junior Summer Church, for the death of Aaron Rajman, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators allege that Swinton and Ortiz entered Rajman’s home and shot the occupant during a home invasion. Church, authorities allege, called ahead to ensure that the MMA fighter was home, as police allege that the trio intended to murder Rajman and that the incident wasn’t just a burglary gone wrong.

The 16-year-old girl was allegedly a friend of the deceased and used that connection to help the Ortiz and Swinton gain access into his home.

“This was no random act of violence,” Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg said in a statement. “Mr. Rajman was targeted by these defendants, and we intend to seek justice for the victim and his family.”

Judith Church, mother of the female suspect, told reporters that her daughter was a victim and that the two males forced her to call Rajman at gunpoint. She also alleges that her daughter was not even at the scene of the crime, having been allowed out of the car prior to arriving at the crime site.

Judith also noted that her daughter has been fully cooperative with police.

“She worked with them and gave them as much information as possible,” she said. “She wasn’t there. To charge her with first-degree murder doesn’t make sense.”

Got a feeling the boyfriend will get the time. The girl will get probation if that even.

Kids are watching too many movies.
Nonetheless, if the young woman helped plan the robbery and murder, she's going to get serious jail time.

She may not have been there at the scene, but she was definitely a part of a conspiracy to commit murder.

I do wonder what is wrong in the head of people who are capable of things like this.
