Do you white women ever tire of being portrayed as supremely bitchy and illogical in

Am I the only person who notices this in movies, especially in movies when it comes to child custody? I'll give examples later.

I think I know what you mean. I'm not a WW obviously, but if I had to assume I'd say no. Reason why is because those types of WW are exactly that; Just a type.

If a WW doesn't identify with that type of character personality, she won't get offended. Just something I've observed when it comes to WP stereotypes in media.

Many of us black men do not identify with being thugs, speaking street jargon, or downlow but we speak up when that's what we are portrayed as in Hollywood.

No doubt I see a lot of strong female white leads but I also see a equal amount of bitchy leads.

It's definitely more prevalent with white women then other races in movies.

That's because those are prevalent stereotypes and tropes for black men in media. There's rarely any counter-examples in the same show/ movie/ VG/ etc. So when those stereotypes are played out, it makes it look like this negative character is representing his/ her race as a whole.

If you see a dislikable white person in a show, I can gurantee you a more likable one will appear too. Can't say the same for others.

Good answer not to mention the gift of whiteness in our culture is you get to be an individual. The action of one doesn't represent an entire people so there doesn't have to be any emotional attachment to what one "irrational" white woman does.
Also as you said they are never the sole representation of whiteness in a film. If there's one crazy one better believe there will be one savior type. They are never left without options to identify with someone else.

    SPOILERS ALERT!

Boogie Nights - Mother flips out on son for working too much, berating and telling him he'll always be stupid.

Super - Good guy does everything in his power to make his girlfriend happy but she still leaves him for a drug dealing pimp.

Reservation Road - Mark Ruffalo's character is berated by his ex wife for bringing his son home late from a baseball game. When Mark's character want to spend time with his son, the wife calls him a shitty father basically.

Taken - Liam Neeson's character is berated for showing up at his daughters birthday party by his ex wife and she flex's her new money hard in his face at the party just to shit on him.

Ant Man - Paul Rudd's character gets out of prison and he immediately turns a new leaf in his life by working a honest living to see his daughter. He shows up at his daughters party as a surprise but the ex wife just bitches about visitation times and trying harder for child support money.

The Chaperone - Triple H's character gets out of prison and he immediately tries to reconnect with his daughter. Ex Wife berates him and calls him a shitty father.

Snitch - The Rock's characters son gets locked up on a bogus trumped up drug charge. Ex Wife goes ballistic on the Rock blaming him while the Rock is trying to do everything in his power to help out the son.

San Andreas - The Rock's character wanted to work on his marriage with his ex wife but she was like NAH. I can't remember why tho but she was a bitch about it. BONUS Man dies to save little girl. Mom comes running back in without even saying thank you to the guy that helped save her. Way to run off like a complete coward while your daughter was left for dead.

The Gift - Husband protects his Wife from a creep, wife thinks he's a asshole and distances herself from him for doing the right thing.

No Escape - Wife wasn't overbearing but she was the stereotypical debbie downer of the group. BONUS The annoying constantly screaming annoying little white girl who has a hard time cooperating in life or death moments is in the film.

Lovelace - Linda comes back to her mother for begging and pleading for protection/shelter from her super abusive husband but the mom is cruel and indifferent saying go back to your husband and make him happy giving no fucks. Even tho this is based off Linda's life, I'm not brand new to Hollywood's misleading viewers for shock value.

Others will come back to me with time. You guys bring up great points. I only think of this because hardly ever see asian and indian women portrayed as anything but smart and in control in films. Black women have largly moved off mammy and sassy sister girl roles and are portrayed as strong, resilient, and leaders. It's only white women I see really portrayed like this in roles.

The major flaw in your observation is that in these films there are multiple white female characters in all these films giving a multitude of different personality types. Like Boogie Nights for example you not only had his mother but roller girl the actress married to the producer the dudes wife who was banging everyone etc.
There is more than just one white woman to see. In contrast when you see a woman of color she is the only one. The strong black female or the smart Asian are usually the only black woman or Asian in the entire film with a speaking role. So white women don't have to attach themselves to any one character they have a shit ton of different ones to choose from and say hey that reminds of ....

LOL!!! Boogie Nights is a horrible example of what you originally said "if there's one crazy they'll be a savior to identify with"

You had a coke head cum receptacle with some funky ass feet that wreaked of fungus and death because she never took off her roller skates.

You had the drug addicted aging porn star mother who unsuccessfully tried to get custody of her children

Dudes super disrespectful ho ass wife who fucked anyone and everyone anytime, anywhere

Bucks girlfriend was a down ass chick but she was a ho too

Token black girl was a ho

Who the hell were the white female equivlants of saviors in this film. Everybody in this film were some shiesty ass folks except buck being the only good guy who wanted more out of life.

Dude don't be so literal my overall point is there isn't a singular white character to latch onto so they don't

Isn't that because 90-95% of all film roles for females go to white women, so they get to be pleasant, bitchy, and everything in between?

Yeah the guys a creep, but at the start the husband is protecting his own interests (ie not apologising for a horrific lie) of not being found out and nothing to do with doing the right thing. He just wants to distance himself from his own culpability and it is nothing to do with protecting his wife.

In fact he reinforces the fact he's a shit by lying again to get a promotion and has learned nothing.

The right thing was to come clean.

The wife was a overly sensitive nagger from the jump. Husband didn't even remember who the guy was initially before the lies started.
