As an IR Couple, have you ever had to face prejudice?

I have, although not intentionally...just happened that way. :) Never been with a white man, and now that I'm married...never intend to. I haven't faced much in the way of prejudice though, except for what I mentioned above. Guess I'm lucky. Being in Australia might have a lot to do with it (despite our reputation in such matters).

I have had some women in the Caribbean give me the evil eye for being with my man and have recently been threatened on facebook of all places by friends (bw) he knows in Guyana. He has de-friended them and told them to get lost but it makes my upcoming visit in December to that country all that more interesting.

I'll let you know how that goes, lol.

    wow!!
Im so sorry you had to deal with that.
Hope they get their senses back, or they arent very good friends of your man if they cant respect his feelings and choices.
Let me know what you think when you come back.. since bf is from there too..

The only experiance I can remeber right now is
when I have been to Atlanta wit my BB and we
walked down a park there was a black woman
screaming at us. And when I say scream I mean
    scream. Everyone around heard her...
    "Is that your girlfriend?"
My bb tried to ignore her but then she started again:
"You heard me, is that your girlfriend?"

We decided to leave, since she really semed to be
either on alcohol or something else. So no point
to get in a serious discussion about it...
She kept yelling at us or better at him...
That he is no good for choosing a ww, if he didnt find
    a bw for himslef?

it all comes from stereotypes. they will not assume theat bm are intelligent and caring humanbeings. that is also has to do with just ignorance . not to be mean because ignorance just means they dont know and they allow other people to feed them misinformation ( not lies so much all the time).

lies on the other hand are used to divide the races for the sake of power

I think society has become very accepting of IR relationships, of course there's always going to be some prejudice in any types of relatinship, but I think this generation of any generation existed so far are very open to different types of like gay, lesbian relationships.

But you have to realize that sometimes its not just prejudice, it could be plain jealousy. Me and my man have to go through unnecessary barriers because ppl are trying to dictate how we should run our own relationship and we won't let them. :smt072

Blatant bw hating on ww/bm today at gas station....he was pumping the gas, an older bw was in front of us, if looks could kill....I would be dead! She was so obviously hateful of us that she pulled out and totally forgot to put her gas tank cover on and close the door....normally I would flag the person down and tell them, but I was so stunned I just sat there.... :(

Yes, a lot more in the midwest than elsewhere, but usually at some level it occurs.

Such is the awesome power of IR that it evokes such strong emotions on both sides of the spectrum. Such a person as you describe above only deserves your pity, hope you and yours did not spend much time thinking about her, she must have a truly pathetic life. Have a great weekend with your fella and best wishes!

It's interesting because I usually don't even notice and if I do, I blow it off, but this was like right in our face, you couldn't help but notice...and it's usually more younger bw....another day in the life I guess...!

Unfortunately it does occur everywhere and don't think it will ever change...too much anger and bitterness out there...sad stuff....

Great perspective Loki....we actually looked at each other and shook our heads...talked for like 1 minute about it and went on...like I said, I usually don't even notice, but this was very blatant...yes she must have a pathetic life to let something like that put so much anger in her...

On a better note, going to spend the weekend watching football....thanks!

btw....it must be time for another one of your great pics with that beautiful horse of yours....!;)

Dumb and pathetic. Why must we endure this type of bullshit. Ive also experienced similar situations, but envolving my children. That's one way to make a happy/smiley dude like myself power up to level 10. Bw seem to give me the most flack. Oh well. I'm content with my preference, and wouldn't trade it for the world. Drive on TC drive on.

I hear you there.....you can say what you want about me, but bring my kids into it.....look out....NO ONE f...s with my kids....!
I too am content with my preference and the key words there are "MY PREFERENCE"....so I will just continue to Drive On.... and pray for the prejudice people in this world... :D

the sex is more intense, this is what i have heard many white women i have known say, also the dark skin against white skin etc adds to the intensity, if its about porn then people can say the same about other couples
