Boycotts would work well in conjuction with group economics. Group economic practices should be the standard procedure. Boycotts would be much more easily excecuted if we were in the habit of practicing group economics to begin with.

Group economics takes a certain mindset and to a certain extent discipline. Boycotts take more discipline, but if you are already disciplined in your spending habits it's easier than trying to become disciplined overnight.

In short, once we become more disciplined boycotts can and would work. People should know that economic ideas both began and ended slavery.

    So true at last line.

Boycotts only work if you have an alternative at the ready for the consumer.
Which is where Black businesses would step in. Just boycotting...people gradually return to the store, product, designer, service ,etc because they
forget and miss the product, or it's what's most available to them.

It would be great to have dominant, black owned and operated businesses widely available in the country so that boycotting isn't even entertained by the black dollar power, in the first place.. The black dollars just go straight there from jump.

Black spending to the U.S is like America's spending to the world stage -- we may not be the most populous country, but our dollar speaks volumes to the rest of the world. Obviously we know that BP don't earn more as a whole, but that they spend more of their income.

Think even down to discriminatory practices such as reverse-redlining, BP just pay more and spend more.

One more thing which l find living in a predom black city is that it's very, very important not to try to rip off the black consumer, because you are black and think the loyalty will override. It won't.
Ihear it a lot..."Nah, l go here and not there because so and so tried to pull a fast one cause l'm black"
Then WB"s get the fall-out business.

I know Christian ( and Jewish) communities take care of their own.

In my city, there's even a Christian Yellow Pages Business book filled exclusively with Christian owners (all races) and TBH, l'm impressed by that.

Just like if you ever catch Conservative radio ( hush, lol) there is a huge and powerful, united Christian Health Insurance Group that advertises. They clearly state abortion are not covered. Everything else is though. That's power akin to Union power.
Blacks should 'unionize" their spending power. Man, would that shake up a lot of people.

That's the problem people aren't disciplined they're convenience addicts. That's the hurdle we have to clear first. Or get a group of like minded individuals who are willing to sacrifice some disposable income to create this situation

Even here where we supposedly don't have racial issues (sarcasm) there are specific churches that flat out use their ethnicity to their benefit, such as Japanese Methodist, etc. which have their own advertising as well as using their "membership logo" on other ads to let people know. There are all sorts of groups that are very tight looking to spend within their "own community" first. Some of these groups are rather small but it's amazing how powerful they can be. I once managed one and it was really something to see how much income came from things just like this.

I see what you are saying but realistically there will still be room for boycotting. It is not sensible to compete with some business like Disney world due to economies of scale ect...and other reasons. Another example is something like Bourbon (another luxury we don't need but...) It would be silly to try to compete against Bourbon even tho it could be done, it would be very difficult and probably take too much time and investment to build the needed competencies to start building wealth in the whiskey market.

The smarter thing to do in that case is for those who drink it to simply replace it in their budget with a something else they enjoy like carribean rum, Scotch or Cognac. When the boycott is over then they can go back to Bourbon or whatever...I love good bourbon but not drinking it for a few years would be an easy sacrifice imo. There is probably plenty of other examples if you really think about it.

Every family of African ancestry should evacuate the state of Oklahoma because your black lives do not matter there. Just ask the family of Jeremey Lake which has witnessed two not on but TWO mistrials in his 2014 shooting death by a Tulsa Police Officer. This was jury nullification pure and simple as these white conservatives just made a way when they couldn't find a way to let Betty off. Like when Amadou Diallo was massacred in NY and that Albany, NY grand jury acquitted all those officers back in 2000 . . . remember him shot 37 times just for showing his ID to some plain clothes cops while chilling on his front stoop in the Bronx, NY?

This is the same mentality that some people have that cops can do no wrong that nearly let the Walter Scott killer cop off the hook in North Charleston, SC . . . thank god that for once the DOJ was on its job and they got him to plea bargain as he was going bankrupt
